Desperate Times, Arcane Desires, and Daemonica

So, my Patrons are going to be the first to hear about my upcoming plans for three particular projects: Desperate Times, Arcane Desires, and Daemonica.

I'm going to start with Desperate Times.

It's been a long time since Desperate Times has had a sequel. This is partly because I've begun work on other series, but a lot of it is pretty simple: I've changed so much as an author that it's near impossible to write Desperate Times 4. The other author involved (MV had a very heavy hand in the creation of DT) is also busy and simply unable to create more Desperate Times content.

I have a few options here: continue to force DT4, working on it a little bit here or there until it eventually comes out.

The second option is just abandoning the series, but that's kind of a jerk move, so that's something I don't want to do.

The final option is to write a shorter epilogue that wraps up the store and provides closer.

My choice is to write the epilogue. I've given this a lot of thought over the past month and ultimately, I feel as a writer that I should complete DT with an epilogue and move onto something else (more on that later).

So, that's the plan. Desperate Times will get an epilogue and released as a complete collection with a new prologue, a couple scene expansions, and a reformat. I might even get a foreword from MV is possible.

Now, onto Arcane Desires. I had originally posted this as erotic episodes and, after transitioning to harem, bundled it together with an additional unreleased episode and some tweaks. I eventually took this down because it was so similar to Dragon Estate that I legitimately thought the similarities would irritate fans.

However...

I've decided to bring Arcane Desires back. I will be taking the original content. rewriting the majority of it and massively expanding everything. To give you an idea, Arcane Desires was originally 40,000 - 50,000 words or so. For this massive expansion, it will be closer to 80,000 words.

So, I'm excited about that!

Now, onto Daemonica.

I wrote Daemonica as a first person, episodic erotica. It had a similar fate to Arcane Desires: Daemonica's episodes were bundled together with additional new content (an unreleased episode) and sold as a complete novel.

I took it down not long after. I had a couple problems with this. It's common in the industry to repurpose material but I just felt... off about my decision (this includes Arcane Desires). So, I took it down and decided one day, I'd do something else with it.

Well, well, well! Daemonica is being rewritten from the ground up in third person! The story, characters, and events will largely stay the same. It will just be better, overall.

So, to recap:

• Desperate Times will not get a sequel; instead, an epilogue will be written and bundled with a complete collection, which will include a new prologue and a few additiona scenes.
• Arcane Desires is being massively expanded and mostly rewritten; the original novel was around 40,000 words - the updated version will feature far more story, bringing it up to nearly 80,000 words - if it's not being expanded, it's being rewritten and tweaked.
• Daemonica is being rewritten from the ground up in third person. The ending of the original Daemonica would represent the 'halfway' point of the new version. Edit: I should add that the new title will not be Daemonica. The book will have a new name/series name upon release.

Anyway, that's my update for now. I'll post my monthly update in a week or so.
