Setting up a new thing which will become a video eventually

Hello!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kp07iQ7YNtM

So... I got a thing. And I unboxed it. And I faffed around with it for quite a while. And I recorded the process. And I uploaded that. And now I'm writing these words.

May is shaping up to be a Connextras-heavy month. In addition to Aztec Sights and Sounds (part one is coming very soonly! will be the next public video) I have a restoration project I want to start working on. I will bring you up to speed on that once I have the sights and sounds video complete, but I would put that off forever if I didn't just... do it. The way my brain works means that if I've got main channel stuff to do, I put off other stuff - and I want to do that stuff! So I shall!

Also as a note, I'm going to start using Premiere's auto-captioning system for Connextras and other Patreon-exclusives. It's surprisingly good and usually interprets grammar and punctuation correctly. It's not perfect, so while I did go through and corrected some of its worst errors, there are still some misfires. But it's much better than YT auto captions as is, and so I'll be making that a part of the workflow going forward.

ok well toodles.

I mean this in the most genuine way: what is your concern about this not being “genuine” and the suspicion with the power switch toggled on? For being a 20+ year old item with fully intact packaging (even the external box after shipping) and mint condition plastic I’m not sure what there is to be concerned about?

Looks like Linus has one https://youtu.be/TNZk-xnxIYE?si=vNuLE1kGBFZSbl-d

This is very interesting. Seems to be an Avon CRT projector with built-in Beta player. https://www.facebook.com/share/1JDucdUxNR/

Will using a silver screen help with the brightness?

I remember this, it was so out of my league that I never really cared, but I remember them being in some conference rooms and such and being warned about burn in and all those drawbacks. It's very cool to see it and go through it a bit

I remember them as being dim and with poor convergence. But it's possible that the convergence problem was because it wasn't properly set up.
