Woman are not required to do mandatory military service, only men, and it has to be before they are 30. Since I'm not Korean my opinion doesn't really matter, BUT I have heard they are working on amending the law, because currently certain people are exempt when it comes to sports. How? We have no idea yet, and they said they will have an answer by the end of the year because they have to since Jin will be turning 30. To a degree, I agree with amending the law to exempt some kpop idols, but I had the same thought as you - to what degree? Are they going to set the bar so high that only BTS members are eligible? Or would they make high, yet not unreachable, like Seventeen level of fame. I'm not an EXO-L, but I do know the members have/are/will serve.
