Patreon Update 11-2-25

I had a few things going on last week and I failed to get you all a patreon update, so let me make that up to you.
A few things in the background were happening. I won't get into the dirty details, but super cool, my webcomics in production are being signed for 3 seasons and graphic novel adaptations of the webcomics. So later my webcomics will be in bookstores and comic shops. TBD on dates probably not until late 2026 or likely 2027. This is for Dungeon Diving and Returner's. AO is a ways out, we are doing our best to take all the learnings from the other 2 and really take a big effort shot at it.
I can't promise exactly what that'll look like, but it's cool and I'm really happy to tie a bow on that part. There's still ongoing conversations with publishers outside the US for those digital and physical rights. I am going into China as novels (with sex scenes removed) next year, but I'm hopeful that one of my series might get wings in Asia. Which would then give me a prybar to push for more things like games or animation. One thing some people might not realize is how much more leverage the Webcomics, especially with the quality I've put into them, give me to push outside of just kindle. Who knows if the comics do well, I might even be able to push the novels into bookstores behind them, though it would likely be cut down into 'light novel' sized books I'm told to sell them with the other adaptions.
Honestly, pushing for all of this has been pretty draining, a lot of preparation for conversations that go no where, others that leave me a bunch of bad decisions and lead to sleepless nights. So, I'm pretty happy to get a big chunk of this behind me and pull my full time back to writing.
There was an offer to co-write with me and I thought pretty hard about it, but ultimately I don't think I want to potentially water down my brand by bringing other people into it. The idea of just plotting and editing a series without all the writing time might seem momentarily sweet, but I just can't do that to all of you.
I do have a few kickstarter corrections still to do, sorry about some of the missing cards or packages going missing. FYI after Dragon's Justice KS 3, I'm heavily revamping how I'm doing KS. When USPS loses your box there's literally nothing I can do to generate those serial numbers again. So we are either going to remove serial numbers or do the whole series in a single shot.
Only 2 people got swapped numbers though and it was actually an error on KS 1, decently proud of that. I thought for sure I'd mess up more.
Book wise, I'm a little mad at Returner 5. I had hoped to get to the tournament and cliffhanger the fuck out of you all, but I didn't quite get that far. Maybe next time. I did find some comments interesting. For example someone saying that the Ricky bit was dragged out only to introduce a single side character and one new plot point. I scratch my head at that, because Ricky was really an external stimuli to advance Circe and Merlin's romance which I thought was pretty important. I will be taking the feedback and working on pacing. Though trying to edit pacing on all of a finish novel is hard. Mostly, I've gone through with some small changes to try and increase tension to pull the reader through faster.
There's a little bit of a struggle as the scale of strength grows, the speed of growth naturally slows otherwise it literally forces growth into an exponential scaling where numbers and everything from the prior books becomes completely useless. It is something for me to think about and maybe build growth into some of my greater novel templates rather than just plot and romance or maybe I say screw it an go exponential? Idk.
I have a good idea of what I want for DD 302 and I'm having a little fun with these talk show bits.
But generally this year was a lot of pushing a wave of IP expansion up the hill, hopefully its at the top and will start to roll on its own far easier. Now I need to get back to writing and then I do want to pick at my own writing and improve it. The focus with 3 mature series is how to improve the later half of my series, because I think my book 1+2's are usually very well received, but receptions get fairly meh on my series when we get this deep in.
We do have space series coming next year, right now I have about 10 chapters of the first draft done and I hope to chip away on that one for a bit while we get there. The idea at this point is fairly solid and I don't think I'm going to do a big rewrite from this start.
There are a few other side projects that I'm chipping away on as a result of me making myself write something else other than what's on a deadline on nights and weekends.
My goal at least for the remainder of the year is just write moar!
PS Ama is delayed because apparently what we shot last week had terrible audio, we have to reshoot it this week.

Thanks Bruce. I think the Ricky arc did start to stimulate what you wanted, but i think Circe's attitude at the end of the book didn't reflect any advancement. But at least you put their dirty laundry out, so we know what your working with now.
