This isnβt the first time LL has done double or even triple time. He did it years ago. One of the many tools in his bag

For me there are 3 parts to a great hip hop song: lyricism, delivery (flow/cadence/energy/etc), and the beat. The beat was fire. Em had the best lyricism, and LL had the best delivery. Such a good song.
They both killed it, but LL is why this song goes on my playlist. But I also have no doubt that the REASON LL brought it so hard on this track is because Em was on it. Em brings out the best in other rappers.
And why the hell did hip hop collabs ever move away from this back and forth type of collab? It is clearly the best way to do a collab.

This was definitely a team collaboration. Not one trying to out rap the other; both just having fun with it.
LL and Em respect each other too much to try to outshine each other, and I think this showed that.
But like Tech said, the beat dictates the flow. I agree, speed isnβt LLβs strong suit; but Em could have gone A LOT faster. Both were just matching each otherβs energy the best way they know how: Em with his speed and LL with his βin your faceβ type of aggression. They complimented each other well.

I'd like to think LL had to do the fast pace flow bc the beat said so lol. Tech None always says the beat dictates the flow chosen and just like Tech described in "The Shephard" , just being on the song with the other artist makes you push harder. If you say it didn't you're lying to yourself. I think LL pushed harder bc of Eminem but Eminem also pushed harder bc of LL. For me it was less competitive and more out of respect on both sides. Which made for a great collaboration

Glad you could sit back and enjoy a little. You looked so damn happy.
Maybe occasionally just jam to a song then do a reaction.
Keep up the good work.

Stevie you need to chill bruh. I'm a Big Em supporter too, but unlike calm down with him and Busta VS each other for whose the best, this was actually a team effort song where Both was the winners, and not just one.
You not used to that aggressive many styles of rap "I'm the Best/The GOAT LL Cool J" like he did earlier in his career before he started making songs for women, and changed his style up by rapping smooth instead.
My opinion this was a bomb video and song. Under all that humbleness LL still got that Beast in him when it comes to letting people know it's not a come back, he's been here for years.
Nobody can speed rap like Em, but LL Cool J still did a great job, because unlike other speed rappers you could understand what he was saying like Em. That takes real practice and skill.
