2024-08-20 02:34:00 +0000 UTCI like the rawness for sure and I can tell similarities from the unreleased track "Difficult" in his voice. Probably too hard on him at the time to release. I've been peeping stuff on Reddit recently about Eminem that I don't already know. There is someone who has been releasing real instrumentals of Eminem's music to include a version of the "Kim" instrumental that has the removed No Doubt sample that couldn't get cleared before release. Must be an engineer or something bc they have access to the raw tracks and knowledge of the history of tracks. A lot of tracks are years old before we ever got them. They get worked and reworked with updated lyrics and maybe references. Like "Brand New Dance" was updated for TDOSS with the Kaitlin Kardashian pumping her fist line was originally Brittany Murphy like she did in 8 Mile movie. I bring all that up to say that leaker has a remix of 25 to Life with the chorus being "Be Careful What You For" and it works.

It's not always about the lyrics, its the emotion and delivery in the song or variation of the song that may have made him polish it up to be more radio friendly or easy on the casual ear. That or like you said, he would probably relive those feelings hearing this version.
