TPOTF update

This post is to inform you about the reason of slowing down on showing posts and updates in these days and in following.

Once i started implementing the new animation of the plant in game i realized that the player code is getting out of hand and is cousing troubles around.

I taken the fatal decision of start moving everything not strictly related to the player, outside taking the chance of this i also had to touch many stuff and other stuff still have to be updated.

Everything in a word: MODULARIZATION. in order to prepare the game to be faster, readable, much beter organized, and ready also for future reuse of functions, characters and systems.

You will not see much difference except for these little things that i had to rework, most of this is in backhand, BUT it seems that also the stability of the framerate has been affected, i didn't tested too much it yet but i hope that this also saves us some framerate.
I'm touching so much stuff that i'm not writing everything in the progress log, but nothing new yet.

Mainwhile, the environment artist and model artist are working with/for me, actually on mummies model and laboratory environment.
I will share some images about them once they are done.

Greatings... :)

yea, these things has to be done but they takes their additional time. btw by out-of-control code i mean that there are too much chaining of bigger codes, there was too much in the player blueprint, this mean that everyone need of something had to get the reference of the 13MB of player asset to get each needed function, e.g. now who needs to move the camera will communicate with camera manager and not with player.... same for other things but i'm not finished yet, and after main player is done i have to do this also for dogs and Tursby, it will be faster tho because of the modularization i'm doing will allows me to reuse what i created in these days.

As a layman in game development, I don't know what "out-of-control code" means, but I think what you are doing must be a big project. Although it has been a long time since you updated new content, I think you must be working hard to present better content to everyone. The project may seem difficult at the moment, but I believe you will succeed, and I will always support you.

what do you mean?

Honestly, it's nice to hear you're working on the game and backing up a bit. I like a lot of the enemies, but the older ones can be so janky sometimes.
