Man, interpersonal communication really is important. It’s sad that this whole mess basically came down to a difference in personality, misunderstanding, and good intentions just not well thought out. I can’t wait for the next one!

2025-06-03 04:20:36 +0000 UTCHonestly it sounds like Bligh's language was simultaneously extraordinarily crude and yet also extraordinarily mild mannered by our standards. It is really hard to see past the perception that Fletcher and the other gentlemen crewmates were all just extremely thin skinned and entitled. Yeah taking verbal abuse sucks but it's not like your typical service industry worker feels a regular urge to conspire with their coworkers to kill their manager over it, or any of the especially rude customers that they experience.
