An event that pushed John Brown over the edge. Old Brown was coming, with his militia leading to 56 political killings called Bleeding Kansas.

2023-03-18 03:50:51 +0000 UTCOne can debate whether Brown's tactics did more harm than good but it's really hard to argue that it's morally wrong to counter slavery and pro-slavery violence with violent tactics in a country that was founded in a terrorist insurrection and near-decade war over the technicalities of tax and trade law.
