The thing that always struck me as odd regarding war in East Asia (and Japan in particular) is how quickly fortifications get reduced. What's up with that?

I love Japan history and particularly this time period. I've read Musashi by Eidzi Josikawa two times, Taiko once and I want to read them both again because of this show.
