Was Goku trying to knock Jiren out with that last blast or was he trying to give him energy so that they could tussle once more? It was never clear. I'd assume it's the latter, since Goku always yearns for a good fight.

2025-07-27 04:07:32 +0000 UTCJiren pressed the Goku button. But to be able to land solid blows on him even in complete ultra instinct, Jiren has to have unlocked his own version. Look at his aura. It is the same sparkling one as Goku, albeit red. Goku's ultra instinct utilizes a solid defense, followed by a counterattack. Jiren's version appears to be purely offensive. Also 17's self-destruct was a fake-out. He couldn't detonate even if he wanted to, the bombs inside him and 18 were removed by Krillin.
