Because of the terrible English translation they lied about trunks still being alive to appease to the Young audience. In kai and japanese they said he was dead. That's why kai is superior.

2024-07-09 04:41:45 +0000 UTCI kinda wish that we would have gotten a one vs one with Gohan and Super perfect Cell. I think that they were closer in power than most people think. That blast did hurt Gohan quite a bit, even though he was somewhat off guard. With Cell being a better fighter and having instant transmission now but still being somewhat weaker than Gohan. It would have been interesting to see.
