Maw Of Doom

Bought two new models: the trex and the city. I admit I did not really need another city model, but with my current collection, its safe to say I will not be buying another one again (unless its some uber neat sci fi place)... I like structures, I cant help myself sometimes. Anyway, I saw this new trex come up on the market place. His downside is he does not have any morphs: nothing to change his facial features, nothing to change how muscular he looks, and no belly morph. Darnit. But what attracted me was the high definition textures. He is by far my most detailed predator. I can make the belly morphs, you'll see them eventually.

I'm also very happy with the render itself. I tried something new with the lighting. Its subtle, but I think it added a layer of light. I made this large enough to be a wallpaper, and I put my icon in the bottom corner for that reason.

Rendering Tip: Preview Preview Preview.

Throwing lights into the scene and calling it good isn't...well...good. Daz has its preset lights, but they are basic. They are meant to be a base to help you get started with your own lights. Its always a good idea to do some render previews. Daz has a tool in the render tab next to the universal selector; its a mouse with a camera icon. Click and drag that across the screen to render a small portion of your scene. You can use it to see your entire scene, but if you want a quick preview, grab a small section. In this image, I did a preview over and over again as I tested my lights. The result is you'll feel a lot more confident when you go to render the image. Remember, its going to be sitting there rendering for potentially several hours, you'll want to know you'll like the end results.
