In truth, he is already king of the Darklands, one of two lands of the afterlife, but the new cult hasn't quite gotten that part of the scriptures updated yet.
Despite his bold appearance and his position, he's surprisingly laid back. Unlike his father was, he is not a tormentor, and keeps a hands off approach from the land of the living for the most part.
The cult was never his idea, nor did he want it, but he figures as long as the cult isn't causing trouble for others on the surface then it doesn't matter much. It helps that they have such an interesting leader, at least..
