Patreon Development Update 24.03.2023

Hello everyone, it's time for the weekly Friday progress report.

Level: Optimizing World Map V3 in many areas like World Partition grid size, Texture Streaming, HLODs and Render/Scalability settings for better performance.

We are working on the sitting furniture and are detailing the Mayor’s Mansion in Umbar.

There is also work being done on the Apoc region and mountain regions as well as Umbar’s forests.

Started a blockout pass for foliage.

Code: Our work on improving physics continues.

Sandbox: We added the ability to create folders in the prop collection UI, enabling you to organize your collections to your heart's content!  Short video here.

Also, we started to improve prototype shapes with dynamic geometry (Meaning the geometry changes when options are modified, e.g. Torus, Hollow Half Sphere, Round Tube etc.). Previously, the geometry changing was handled by materials using vertex offsets, but this created two issues: Using custom materials broke them and collision was not updated accordingly. This new implementation will solve both these problems by generating the model at runtime using the given settings and creating a collision mesh based on it.

Character: Continuing to work on the Dragonfly ambient creature. It’s about 1m long and in case you were wondering, like the others it won't be sexable.

The first outfit from one of the game’s factions- a Sky Villager robe, has been started and is making good progress.

More old hairstyles are being improved.

Animations: Working on the Maya x Elber Minigame. In this quest, Maya can choose to give a clumsy young warrior a much needed lesson on how to properly please a woman.

Work on NPC routine animations for the first quest batch continues.

Design: Further improvements and detailing of the Alpha Camp blockout.
Working on implementing the first set of quests to the game so they are hopefully ready for the next patreon build release.

Same oppinion here according to the UI. For me the broken physics is also a major problem. But I am optimistic! ☺️🤘🏻

Any chances of modern furniture making its way into the game or atleast sandbox? I know its supposed to be tribal but a bunch of spacefaring humans are bound to have some luxurious beds and other stuff lying around their ships Also choosing clothing during minigames possible to implement or is it to much of a hassle(I do be loving them in some of those neat clothes more then bare naked but maybe thats just me)

I don't see the sandbox / cheat menus as part of what the game will be. If the new sandbox UI helps make a better end game (where you go around, shoot things, explore, etc., then I'm fine with any changes made. This is early access, after all.

Just so you have some additional feedback I think its natural for a sandbox game with any creation kit to become more complex as time goes on. The new features and tools are helping keep people engaged beyond just what the devs provide. Maybe just clarifying that the UI will keep changing and always linking to an updated guide on how to use the tools in each update would help out some people.

I feel the same way with the UI. It is partly unecessarilly complex. For excample to start a Sexual interaction between two characters in free roam. It was way easier to interact with the npc and start the sex then picking the poses then out of a big menu. Same goes for the posing.

Kinda' have to agree, picked up updates on and off for the last dew years. Last update I got was the one just before the x-mas update. Everything in that update looked great and beautiful, loved the way the characters looked, ran everything on "Epic" settings--it was gorgeous and wonderful and smooth. This update...the UI just for doing a simple set up was nonsensical, and environments rendered fine and nice but specifically the human characters did not, it was like they took a major step backward, while everything else from environments to the animal peoples rendered beautifully no matter how I adjusted the settings it did the humans no favors.

I love the interior design of Mayor's Mansion in Umbar. Thanks for the great update, guys

I gotta agree as someone who's been watching this project for awhile, the new UI is very offputting. It's considerably (and unnecessarily) more complex when I saw no real issues with the previous systems. But it could just be my opinion.

Which part specifically doesnt feel good anymore? You can always just download older versions.

Game really went downhill the last couple months, not as user friendly anymore, too much crap involved for simple tasks, ive invested a couple hundred in this game over the past 2 years, and after updating this time was a dissapointment, sorry. Use to love the game. Anyway to get the older user interface back? Or hire someone to fix?

Oh man I'm really excited for the quests. I love the sandbox feature but I enjoy the overall experience when it comes to adult games not just the adult part itself lol

Oh, the folder thing is great. I hope we will also get an ui for media player assets. Since adding pictures or drawings to a scenario adds so much life to it. And if you got like 100-200 pictures its hard to decide which one fits, if you just see the name of the file and not a tiny picture preview. :<

Is there also a possibility to see a map folders option to help organize those I like to keep back ups and save maps from other creators
