Chapter 2 — The Awkward Morning After

I woke up first, just as dawn began to break through the curtains. The room was silent, broken only by Hana's quiet breathing. I lay still, feeling the memories of the previous night wash over me. Every touch, every kiss was so vivid and alive in my memory. Inside, a strange but warm feeling was growing, which I tried to ignore.

Turning on my side, I looked at Hana. She was sleeping, her face relaxed and peaceful. I couldn't take my eyes off her, realizing how beautiful she was. We had been so close last night, but what did it mean for both of us?

I quietly got up, trying not to wake her, and headed to the bathroom. Turning on the water, I looked thoughtfully at my reflection in the mirror. What to do next? Our attraction was so obvious, but was it worth pursuing?

When I came out of the bathroom, Hana was already awake. She was sitting on the bed, wrapped in a blanket, looking at me with a slight smile.

"Good morning," she said, her voice soft and a little hoarse from sleep.

"Good morning," I replied, feeling the warmth flare up inside me again. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yes," she yawned, stretching. "And you?"

"Me too," I said, sitting on the edge of the bed, trying not to look her in the eyes.

An awkward silence fell. We both knew we needed to talk about last night, but neither of us dared to start that conversation.

"Maybe we should have breakfast?" I suggested, trying to break the tension.

"Yes, that's a good idea," Hana agreed, getting out of bed and putting on a robe.

We headed to the kitchen. I started making coffee while Hana found some eggs and vegetables in the fridge for an omelet. We were silent, each occupied with our own task, but the tension in the air was palpable.

When breakfast was ready, we sat at the table. I stared at my plate, not knowing how to start the conversation. Hana took the first bite, and I followed her lead.

"You know, I've been thinking about last night," Hana finally broke the silence. I froze, not knowing what to say.

"Yes," I replied quietly, feeling my heart start to beat faster.

"It was... unusual," she continued, her gaze fixed on her plate. "I didn't expect things to go that far."

"Me neither," I admitted, feeling a warm feeling spread through my chest.

"But it was good," Hana raised her eyes to meet mine, and I saw something in them that made me hold my breath.

"Yes," I nodded, feeling my cheeks flush.

We fell silent again, but this time the silence was less tense. It seemed like this conversation had lifted some of the weight hanging over us.

After breakfast, Hana offered to walk me home. We stepped outside, and the morning Seoul greeted us with its noise and hustle. We walked side by side, not touching, but I could feel her closeness.

"You know, I'm glad it happened," Hana said unexpectedly, stopping at a crosswalk. "Maybe it's strange, but I think we need to talk about it more."

"Yes," I smiled. "I think so too."

When we reached my place, I felt that something had changed between us. We both knew that this conversation was just the beginning, and many more candid discussions lay ahead.

"See you," Hana said, smiling at me. "Text me later."

"I will," I waved goodbye and entered my home, feeling light and hopeful.
