What do you want to see from SSFF in 2023?
Added 2023-01-10 22:38:54 +0000 UTCHappy New Year skele-fam! Hope your holidays were good! We've been in a bit of a hibernation since shooting our last video right before christmas. But we're ready to start getting back into the swing of things.
But first off, the podcast will return on next Monday the 16th 6:00 pm PT!
And second, discord mod applications are still open! We'll be approving new mods soon so get your applications in asap! https://forms.gle/MuDoeugtcPeMU6jw5.
As we enter our 9th year (which is frightening to write down) we have to admit that 2022 was a weird year for us. Switching our payout method was a great change and huge relief but it took us some time to get to used it. We suddenly had way more time to make videos but we maybe didn't use that time as wisely. I think we made some of our best work last year but I'm disappointed we didn't make more of it.
So let us have it, positives and negatives - what do you want to see from us in 2023? What didn't you see enough of in 2022? No kid gloves, I know we can do better and I want to you to feel like you're spending you energy and money in the right place.
As always, thanks for the years of support, this patreon is almost 10 years old!! And we're still going strong, it's ridiculous! We're both so grateful that we get to do this at all and that we've been able to do it for this long.
Love and Thanks,
Derek and Grace

2023-01-17 01:56:24 +0000 UTCI second that comment about the SH2 historical society. i love the deep dives. same with the RE8 video. also I had a hacking issue on discord and thus got kicked from several servers for "spamming messages." i fixed the issue but think i got kicked from the discord. who can i talk to about that?
BIG DADDY DRACULA
2023-01-16 04:12:10 +0000 UTCMore videos more often. I loved the video on SH2 Historical Society and would love more videos/deep dives like that. I miss your older videos where you would just pick a singular game or topic you wanted to talk about and make a video on it, (like retro throwbacks i.e re:certified classics) or the was it really that bad series. Lastly please please please bring streaming back. I miss your streams on twitch ππ

2023-01-14 07:48:18 +0000 UTCMore Punching Weight!! Other than that, maybe some content on old DOS, Amiga, or Commodore games?
2023-01-14 06:59:31 +0000 UTCI think thereβs a lot of post-mortem potential in the tales of the development and launches of the Sega Saturn and PS3
2023-01-12 21:23:41 +0000 UTCHave you thought of adding Spanish caption to your videos? There is a big retro gaming community in Latin America and Spain that could potentially be interested on your videos. Well, it's just a thought. I don't have any data to support that, so I don't know what the analytics actually say.
2023-01-12 17:20:03 +0000 UTCThis is weird, because whatever you seem to doβIβll watch and enjoy it. You both made some really exceptional videos and documentaries! I will mention that your Symphony of the Night video was very amusing! The writing was very stream of conscious, and it didnβt seem like (from an outside perspective) it took as much time as some of your other videos. It just seemed to really stand out as a nice bit of content between some thicker, more produced videos (at least in feel). I just wish YouTube didnβt punish creators for trying out different things (and videos of varying length).

2023-01-12 05:18:41 +0000 UTCI would love a return of the Re:Certified Classic series. Especially with the "next gen" era being current, we can add PS3/360 games into the mix. It would be good for in-between videos too. Because we all know of games that could use the treatment.

2023-01-11 19:12:03 +0000 UTCMore Punching Weight content please! Also, I really liked the old Happy Game Nerd video you did where you dissected the Historical Society level of Silent Hill 2. I really loved the long-form hardcore level design/scare analysis of that video and have always wanted to see more like it. It doesn't necessarily *have* to cover horror games, but that kind of in-depth level analysis really got me interested.
2023-01-11 18:23:37 +0000 UTCMore polls! Democracy is fun.
2023-01-11 16:44:25 +0000 UTCPersonally I like Uncle Derek choices. It is always weird stuff. Like playing Mario with the mouse or some awkward things. That is why I subscribed first. If he do reviews, I also like when he introduces comments or features other reviewers normally miss or forget (or are not aware). More content is always good

2023-01-11 15:27:26 +0000 UTCWhen there's a lull between videos, just a short from Uncle Derek letting us know how proud of us he is π₯²
