Added 2023-06-12 03:02:52 +0000 UTCHi! I currently have no patrons in this tier, so I'll unlock it as a sample for everyone. I wanted to start with talking about something that was really hard for me to nail down when I first started gaining traction on YouTube: thumbnails.
I had never been a fan of the classic 'clickbait' style thumbnails with an over-expressed face, so I opted for something safe. Large white text over FaB art. It seemed like it would be hard to feel too strongly one way or another about a thumbnail that simple, so I locked it in for a while. After all, I was after what was getting views at the time, which was just FaB content, not necessarily anything to do with Man Sant. This lasted for almost a year until I started included myself, stylized text, and more in thumbnails, only after my brand had been cemented.
I'm not an expert in the YouTube algorithm, but this seemed to pay off- don't look too different at first, but you can definitely grow into that as time goes on. People aren't likely to be sold by one video alone unless you're basically Three Floating haha.
