If I had to speculate about the Apex revenue sharing thing, orgs probably wanted to stick with revenue sharing instead of the flat fee because they’re worried about cosmetics with their brand attached being sold indefinitely, even if they were meant to be sold only for a “limited time”. That term has never really had much weight in Apex, where there’s a bad cycle of advertising skins as “event exclusive” or “event limited” when they’re really not. Lots of previous cosmetics have been resold in future events, collection events that had previously featured completely original and exclusive skins you couldn’t otherwise get ended up getting recolored versions of older skins… the list goes on. The main takeaway, though, is that orgs just don’t really trust EA to not milk the org-branded skins if they were only to receive a flat fee. The other thing revenue sharing would ensure is that each org got the “proper” cut — with TSM’s dominance in Apex, there’s no question that TSM would literally outsell every other org by *miles* and to them, it doesn’t make sense to let EA make all the money from cosmetics with their branding and logo all over it, whether the end sum would be roughly as much as what they earned with the flat fee, or double (maybe even triple) that. While the pro scene in Apex has seen continued and increasing (albeit incremental) investment, the upper management in EA/Respawn just aren’t all that invested in growing the game’s eSports, because it’s such a money sink. There are far less people dedicated to this endeavor than Riot has to Valorant, and I think to a lot of orgs, the way any and all negotiations have been essentially shut down by EA — along with the company’s general unwillingness to commit to revenue sharing — just indicates an overall lack of interest in any potential partnership that can help Apex grow. Liquid, C9, SSG, G2, NRG, etc. have all pulled out of the scene because they disagree with EA’s business model and that’s probably why they think any more investment in the Apex scene is futile. Most of this is speculative, but as a long-time follower of the Apex pro scene, I hope this provides some more context as to why so many orgs didn’t think the flat fee offer from EA was out of good faith and have chosen to bow out of the scene instead.

hoodies are great, still waiting for the Disguised Toast hoodie to restock, especially with Fall/Winter now approaching here in Canada

Would be cool to see Perry join an NACL team the next season, maybe even DSG?
