Thinking about the future

So I've been looking ahead - like months and years ahead- about what to make in the future for my business.

My shop originally started as a handmade art shop, focused on making small accessories and stationery. I created polymer clay pins, hand painted mini wooden earrings and cut out all my stickers at home from my desk.

But my shop has evolved over the years and I expanded into making more designs and outsourcing the work, because it became too much for me to manage at home.

Then I started my own ceramics studio and doubled down on making pottery.

So here we are, a lil art business making pottery, stationery, accessories and some home decor. However, I feel a shift is coming because I want to start making other stuff.

What does this mean?

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I haven't been making as many new pin and keychain designs this year - and this has been very purposeful.

You'll be the first to hear this, but I am planning to stop making keychains, earrings and possibly even pins 👀 Pins are still tbd, but many designs ave already been discontinued/removed from my shop.

This is because I want to start making more unique things, and these small accessories take a lot of creative energy to make AND take up a lot of space in my studio 😅

What will you make instead?

I'm not totally sure yet, but I want to start making things that have a purpose and will be used day to day. I do know that functional pottery, socks and bags are in the direction I want to go though.

(I will admit, however, that making plushies is still a goal of mine and I'm not really sure how this falls under "purposeful" things besides being cute and cuddly <3)
