The vast wilderness of the north is unmatched in its beauty, its resources, and its unforgiving environment. It is a mysterious and mystical land, that most prefer to admire from afar. Few have mastered the alpine mountains, it is a land of steep slopes, covered in deep snow, the rivers are frozen over and the air is positively frigid. There are rime covered cliffs, deep ravines and icy caverns, home only to the hardiest of creatures. Few humanoids have ever settled in the Alpine Snowy Mountains, those that do are often looking for solitude. But be aware, do not let the soft silence fool you. The sages speak of ancient druids that once inhabited the area, their ruins still left behind. It may be superstitious, but it is best to leave them alone if you spot one. Oh, and then there are the old wives’ tales of the Alpine Abominable Snowmen. Huge harry beasts, the color of the snow, with fangs and claws, they blend in perfectly. They are the wards of the northern frontier, only emerging to scare off those that would harm the wilderness. And there are rumors of White Dragon Cultists, but I’ve never heard any real report myself, probably just a campfire story. -Cornelius the Traveler
The Alpine Snowy Mountains is a generic scenario set of an outdoor winter scene. It features spiraling peaks, rolling hills, a frozen river and a ravine that cuts through the middle. Snow dusted foliage and icy undergrowth fill the landscape. The ruins on the peaks have unlit braziers placed ideally for beacons. At the very corner, almost unnoticeable, is a small cave opening, it leads to an icy cavern that winds and curves beneath the mountain. At its end, is a glistening rime temple front, that functions as a living ice dungeon.
This scenario set has multiple maps that all fit together seamlessly, building to create a massive site that can be used for an entire campaign. This is the Master Tier, it includes the base four Alpine Snowy Mountains- (NE, NW, SE, SW); the Night time alternates, and the Alpine Cavern. The GM Maps and corresponding Manual are included in this tier. All of the scenes are pre-lit as Mega Maps on FoundryVTT. Each map is 40x30, with an optional grid overlay. The mega map size is 80x60.
