MISERY (1990) *REACTION* (MOVIE COMMENTARY)

Comments

hey lovlies can u guys please watch delores clairbone thanks

Bret Alleman

Yes! I love that movie too!

Tara M. Wilcoxon

I think it's such an unsettling detail that often goes unnoticed is the Paul Sheldon autograph in the shrine. I believe that means she was in line at one of his book signings and he has met her before. To me that really creeps me out.

Whitney Miller

Silver Bullet with Corey Haim. It's my favorite werewolf movie and it's a S. King book.

Whitney Miller

Yeah she just happened to have a pharmacy worth of narcotics

Seth Nickeson

Omg I've seen this movie DOZENS of times, and I never even considered that!!!

Seth Nickeson

I saw it way back when but I think I blocked it out of my memory 😂

Seth Nickeson

I don't know if you've seen it but you should do Delores Claiborne. It's also Steven King and Kathy Bates but it's more character drama than horror. Also has Jennifer Jason Leigh, Christopher Plummer, John C. Reilly.

Seth Nickeson

I've seen this movie so many times and I always turn away when she breaks his legs with sledgehammer.

Spooky_Pigeon

"I’m only 18" 🤣 *I think you could still pull it off.

Stephanie Ella

Somehow I had forgotten all about the pills..

Stephanie Ella

I think I’ve watched "Cat’s Eye" about 100 times.. lol. James Woods, Drew Barrymore, and Candy Clarke were all great in that.

Stephanie Ella

I lived in Lisbon Falls, Maine for 2 yrs.. it’s where he went to High School. I later wondered if that’s where he dreamt up the premise for "Carrie". 🤔

Stephanie Ella

Has anybody else watched "Boxing Helena" starring Julian Sands? It’s similar to this story, but somehow worse..

Stephanie Ella

Yes, all of this.

Rebecca Hopkins

Glad you enjoyed some more fun facts. Such a stellar, perfect film. What a character King made with Annie Wilkes!

Rebecca Hopkins

Oh wow, I’m glad it added more context for you both! Yeah so I got it from the scrapbook shots in the film AND stuff in the book, which I think the clippings of the intensive care/geriatric murders she committed are shown. She ended the life of an elderly pediatrician who was in a coma after a car accident. She was indeed a serial killer who first killed her father when she was only 11, which the book seemed to make a little bit clearer I think, if I remember correctly. Aside from the maternity ward babies, My girl Annie also seemed to stay plotting the demise of any cockadoody or Mr. Man that made her feel oogy at one time or another. Storing that mess away for her blue rainy day 😂🤣this is also one of my favorite movies too, so fun you did it on the Patreon. Enjoyed it a lot. Kathy is a QUEEN. And RIP to Jimmy Caan. Such a legend. And of course the magnificent Lauren Bacall. ♥️

Rebecca Hopkins

Misery, the Green Mile, and Christine were my dad's favorites. I still have to look away during the hobbling scene. I'd love to see a reaction/commentary to Cat's Eye, Creepshow, Silver Bullet, and Christine.

Joshua Scott

Do Dolores Claiborne for sure. And I'm sure you've both already seen Carrie, but would love to see a reaction/commentary to that as well.

Pam Nail

Sitting down to watch this with yall tonight while I am sick. I've surprisingly never seen it, but I LOVE Kathy Bates. :3

Vixi

Chey, you mentioned something that I don’t think I’ve ever considered.. she for sure broke his legs right from the very beginning! His ACTUAL injuries from the car crash were probably rather minor.. she needed him to need her. 😳

Stephanie Ella

Oh wow! That is so cool! I love fun facts. 😃

Lavender Violet

Been waiting for this one! Easily in my top 5 movies❤️ I'm also reading the book for the first time. It feels like watching the directors cut because I can picture all the characters and the setting. Thanks for all the content guys!

Nick Giancola

I love that she puts the pills on a little doily.

Tara M. Wilcoxon

omfg thank you I did and I hope you did too!!! and idk what you're talking about--I just turned a sensible 21 🤭

Petty Pumpkins

thank you for all this info!! never have looked at the scrapbook too closely! did you get all this info from just the stills of the clippings in the book or that + the actual novel? just curious!

Petty Pumpkins

Ok, here’s just a couple things regarding the articles in Ms Wilkes cockadoody scrapbook 😂 or as I call it, Annie’s little book of murder 🤣 here’s its contents exposed, to help you better understand her character: 1) Carl Wilkes wasn’t her husband- he was her father. And he didn’t die in a car accident. He died after a “freak accident” of falling down the stairs in his house. The only witness? Annie. She was 11. And clearly, this is supposed to indicate that she killed her father. 2) The nursing student that fell to her death was ALSO a victim of Annie. As is the Dr. who dies while still in a coma, and the elderly patients that die. 3) Oddly enough, the scrapbook also contains the death of a school principal, which I think was her husband, who she also murdered to look like a “freak” accident. 4) All the maternity ward baby deaths were most certainly her. Which finally got her busted. But she beat the charges because of lack of evidence. So, three takeaways from all this: 1) Originally from Bakersfield, CA, she moved around the country…A LOT. From coast to coast and in between. It seemed like every time she killed somebody, she moved. 2) she must have never taken her husbands last name because her maiden name was Wilkes and it’s Wilkes throughout the scrapbook, and never changes. 3) and this is the most important part: SHE IS A COCKADOODY PSYCHOPATH & OOGY SERIAL KILLER AND HAS BEEN KILLING SINCE SHE WAS 11, starting with her own father. Out of all of her poor victims (the babies, omg 😩), Paul Sheldon was the only one who stopped her…instead of the other way around. What’s her scrapbook really? Well, it’s a serial killers trophy book. Edit: When you look at all of this in context, it really becomes apparent how scary this psychopathic, serial killer character actually is. And for me, it makes the film that much more unsettling and downright chilling. Elaborated more in the book is her motives behind her killings- she actually believed she was ending their suffering and giving them peace by killing them. So delusional we’d need another word for delusional to describe this “sick, twisted FUC…” 😂 Wes you’re so right. it’s such a brilliant, literally perfect film. Sorry I wrote a novel; Paul Sheldon I’m not so if you actually read to the end, you have my deepest condolences. 😂🤣

Rebecca Hopkins

Ohio isn’t any better, we just got through -9 weather!!!

Austin Young

The next Stephen King-based movie you should react to is “Dolores Claiborne”! Kathy Bates is in that one too and is amazing as always. Then, since you reacted to “The Shining”, you should react to the sequel, “Doctor Sleep”.

Tara M. Wilcoxon

Hope you had a great birthday Wes! 1-8-96 we share a bday and can’t believe we are close to the big 3.O!!!! I recommend CARRIE for another Stephen King reaction!!

Austin Young

I'm going to read Misery and watch the movie to compare for a book club. So perfect y'all are doing this reaction!

Kenjii H

"The Shining" is also one of my favorite Christmas movies.. 🤣

Stephanie Ella

YAAAAAAAAAAS I was so excited to sit and enjoy this with you guys.!❤️🎃❤️

Emily Carmen

Do Delores Claborne. She stars in that Stephen King adaptation as well.

CatahoulaMom117

Perfect fit with the weather. Living here in Michigan sometimes the weather so dreary, so I like to do a travel movie series. One of my favorites is Evil under the Sun, a great mystery in a beautiful setting with a fantastic cast. I used to watch The Shining alot during this time of year but it's so suffocating sometimes. Long may she live, Miss Kathy Bates! You Poop! ❄️❄️😃

Richard LaMance

I so love me some Kathy Bates!!!

Marlaina Lindsey

Yaaaas! My favorite cockadoodie Christmas movie. 🤣
