I absolutely loved this movie (chey I'm with you, I'd rather have things in chronological order but here we are), and there's so much I want to say about the whole BDSM scenario! I could talk for hours, and I'm legitimately going to use scenes from this movie in future lectures! 🤣 For context I'm an educator/consultant on sexual health and crime. But yeah what a wild ride of a movie! I love that you were questioning and suspicious the whole time haha

I’d be very shocked if neither of those films inspired the writing or direction.

"No spoilers, there's a twist," is the biggest spoiler there is, especially in a movie that begins at the halfway point with 2 people engaged in a singular struggle, and has like 5 characters. I mean, obviously it isn't going to turn out they were dead the entire time or find Gwyneth Paltrow's head in a box. Final shot, we pan back from police investigating the house and we see each character's driver's licenses and they are actually brother and sister. There's your unexpected twist.
