Katy is the perfect wife for George. She knows him since before he became influential George and she knows how he thinks. She is clever and can strategise with George. And he seems trust her. Good match for both of them 👏

completely agree with everything you said!! and so excited to see how this all ends!

This episode is definitely the start of a shift in George. I think Mary overplayed her hand a bit with George and it ended up pushing him away. It's also kind of sad how so many of the people around George were just using and manipulating him (his mother, sister, Katy, Bacon). Can't wait to see your reactions to long-haired George soon!

this was very helpful, thank you!!

thank you!!!! that is really interesting, especially knowing that he was against Spain in the past aready. and knowing that this show decided to portray him as definitely guilty of treason

Sir Walter Raleigh plotted to overthrow King James years before this. During Raleigh's testimony, King James is uncomfortable because he can see George being played by Raleigh and believing everything he says. Also, Sir Edward, the little balding fuck in the glasses, is anti-Catholic and thinks the Spanish are heathens. Sir Edward wants war with Spain. James, Bacon, and Gondomar don't want war. Also, George being locked in with Katy actually happened in historical accounts. As far as marrying Katy, remember Somerset was married and still fucking the king. It's sort of expected, necessary to gain heirs and such. And the scarred girl in the hallway was Jenny, George's first love.

Sir Walter Raleigh is a polarizing historical figure for sure. He was imprisoned by Queen Elizabeth for sleeping with her lady in waiting. He was released and then imprisoned and sentenced to death by James for potentially trying to supplant his place on the throne. He was released once more but finally executed after his men attacked a Spanish outpost, as England and Spain were trying to form an alliance at the time, despite being former adversaries. Some say it was against his orders, some say it was on purpose due to his long history of fighting against the Spanish, but he was quite the enigmatic figure. I think he mostly just wanted to find El Dorado for the gold haha Anyway, enough history, thanks for another awesome reaction guys! 🤩 Loving all the recent content.
