Dear X Ep 4

Comments

I joined your Patreon just for this drama. One of my fave dramas. The plot, the cast, their acting.. everything is top notch. Kind of wish it was on Netflix so a lot of people can watch this. But thanks for reacting to Dear X. Kim Yoojung as Baek Ahjin is pure art.

You say we should 'watch dramas as dramas,' but you are the one judging others for having different opinions. It is not okay to take other people's comments and call them WRONG just because they don't agree with you. Your opinion is not a fact. You assume people defend her only because she is pretty. That is not true and it’s rude to say. You are insulting people as if you actually know them. Many are interested in her trauma and her past, understanding why a character changed is the whole point of watching a drama. You claim to speak for all Koreans, but many Koreans actually discuss her deep pain and sympathize with her. You say you are Korean, yet you don’t seem to know that a major part of the Korean audience supports Ah Jin? 🙄 Just share your own view. No one is WRONG for seeing the story differently than you. Also, claiming that 'hardly anyone in society' insults orphans or that she should have just been an 'ordinary office worker' is incredibly naive. It ignores the systemic issues the drama is critiquing. Don't mask your personal dislike as a 'superior moral boundary' while trying to silence everyone else. If you want to talk about facts, go look at actual K-forums, the debate is far more nuanced than ur view

Ah Jin has been in survival mode since she was young. As a child, she did whatever she could to avoid staying in the orphan school because she thought it was the only way. If she were too innocent and kind, people would bully her even more. Deep down, she is badly hurt. When she fights back, people forget what they did to her and only see her mistakes. Jun Seo never believe in Ah Jin, but Jae Oh believes in her completely. It’s true that Jun Seo always fails to protect her and never really understands her. He could have made a plan to protect her, like making sure Ah Jin’s dad never touched her, but instead Ah Jin had to step in and handle it in the wrong way.

Sang

There is no right way to handle this. I know her choices are not accepted by many, but this is exactly what makes her feel real. Why do we expect a child who grew up under the torment of evil to become a kind person? Kindness cannot protect her. Her life was doomed to be tragic from the moment she was born. I do not agree with what she did, but as an ordinary person, I have no standing to condemn her. I only hope that a life like hers will never happen to anyone in the real world

Yea cause I was just thinking this is the same actress as Do Do-Hee in My Demon. She’s really outstanding!

i really wonder how much this role affected the actress like it must've been hell to step out of the character and return to normal life... :( this is why i admire actors so much !

They said they uploaded ep 2 and reacted right away so there weren’t much comments

M.

also let's be real here, if baek ahjin were a guy, everyone would be drooling over him.

Thanks for this upload, already watched the show but I love rewatching it with you guys to see your reaction and hear your thoughts.

When the series introduce Ah Jin, they introduced her as a sociopath and not psychopath because she wants to be at the top where no one can touch her, because her life has been hell. So it is like when you don’t have something, you want that something so bad, so you try everything to get that. I think Ah Jin thought she can get away with people bullying her once she reaches the top. She just wants a normal life tho. Also, I don’t know if Korean people have more empathy, but when Jung(actress )read the comments about the drama, she herself was surprised by how much people support Baek Ah-Jin. I watched another reaction channel, and that one girl also supported her 😂 I can see why people support her too. It’s not like she searched for problems, people came to her first. She even had to be in survival mode since she was young. Nobody taught her the right way to solve problems but only violence. It’s like when people bully you, and when you fight back, you get hate

Sang

Why didn't u guys read ep 3 comments?

Sang

I love how the blonde hair girl (sorry I forgot her name) also roots for Ahjin. We also love Baek Ahjin. I don’t agree with a some of Ahjin’s actions but her villain arc is right considering what everyone around her has been putting her through.

M.

The way Junseo kept doing a 360 when taking to her.. you are so evil but I love you so much 😭 my boy is truly stuck in a toxic relationship

M.

I feel like we need two episodes in one this show is just too good 😭
