As ever, thank you for all of your support ❤️ This month has been a crazy one. We've been working non-stop trying to finish the compost toilet, and on top of that our editing software has been moving like a snail 😂 Thanks for bearing with us, as we get used to all of this! We are always aiming for a video every two weeks. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on meat chickens vs hunting?

Didn't realise the difference between the ones causing mayhem in america, and the wild boar here, we thought they were the same thing, so thanks for clarifying. The ones in america always seem to be out during the day, whereas the wild boar here will always come out at night, i guess that's a pretty big difference? And maybe because the ones where you are are derived from domesticated pigs does that mean they are more tame than wild boar? Wow 30 piglets per year is an insane number! On the night time videos usually the mum starts off with 5 or 6 piglets but only 2 make it to become larger animals. Well done for getting one with a bow, im sure that's pretty challenging! Great links on the boar traps, good to see you can make them portable and can move them around, could be a good idea for us, and yes less interaction with those tarzan types is probably better haha!

We don't have true wild Boar over here. However, we have unbelievable numbers of feral hogs derived from domesticated swine. A couple generations out of the pen and their snout elongated, their hair turns black and they start growing tusks, so not to dissimilar. They have 2-3 litters of about 10 piglets per year. As for the bow...a well placed arrow, tipped with a sharp broadhead, will, most certainly, kill a hog/boar. That's how I killed my first one! However, it may run a ways(possibly the neighbors land, requiring permission to follow it) before it dies. Usually gun shot ones don't run as far. Same goes for wild sheep/goats. Unfortunately, old world hunting is steeped with tradition and more associated with burly manly men(Unga Bunga! Me Tarzan!!LOL!!) A hog trap might be a better option. YouTuber Deermeatfordinner recently showed how to build semi-permanent traps(small circular pen with a trap door). Another 'Tuber, DavidEllisYawtYawt shows how he uses portable traps to catch 1000's of hogs each year. Most importantly, wild hogs are TASTY!!!!!!!
