Labyrinth of Roots
Added 2025-05-17 19:31:43 +0000 UTCHello everyone! For the 1st map of May, here is Labyrinth of Roots. This map was inspired by both the request for more purple/blue maps, and another combination of elements from the map poll, which was: "the secret throne of a powerful nature-themed dragon", I turned the throne into somewhat of a nest within the roots, especially with the "Core" variation available Hero of the Realm patrons.
The Labyrinth is not really meant for players to get lost as its design is fairly simple, the idea is that whatever creature the party encounters here uses the root walls in their favor, examples:
Nature Dragon. Its size and flying ability allows it to move freely over the roots, making devastating attacks and hiding in a new area afterwards.
Mist Fairies. They teleport around the Labyrinth creating illusions and a thick fog, with limited visibility finding the fairies should prove to be the difficult part.
Song of the Wild. A beautiful song is played by a fey who hides and moves through the Labyrinth, players can use the music to guide themselves to the right direction, but the melody is also an enchantment that makes plants or wild life fight the party, and charm anyone who comes too close to the musician.

Another variation, "Strings", is meant to be used together with the Strings of Fate map, which I think could lead to some pretty creative adventures!
