I don't think they needed to make another one of these movies; however, I did like it!
It was interesting how the apes, over generations, took Caesar's law in different ways... it was
definitely an emotional rollercoaster. What are your thoughts? π

Firstly, I recognize that my expectations for this movie were impossibly high given the deep love I have for the previous trilogy. That said, I found the movie to be disappointing. It was good, but not great. For me personally, it just did not have the same emotional resonance that Rise, Dawn and War did. I did not feel the same connection with any of the apes as I did with Caesar. I guess that's to be expected as we watched him through 3 films. We literally saw Caesar from moments after he was born right up until the final moments of his life. We didn't have that with Noa or any of the other apes. That's probably why the film is just meh for me. I also did not feel the story was nearly as compelling. I liked it, but I did not love it.
