Chapter Debrief | Session 𝓔ighty

Hi Lusties! This is a slight surprise since I previously said Saturday would work better for an update. However, I really wanted to get this chapter out to you guys, especially with the cliffhanger I left you all on. There wasn't a visual or song lineup here due to how quickly I wanted to post this chapter for you all, so I apologize for that.

Now... Let's debrief chapter eighty.

A lot happened here, and there's so much to unpack.

At least emotionally and mentally.

To start, Ro definitely wasn't happy about the Dr. Kincaid situation, and the first name basis thing clearly got to her. She basically spiraled from the topic alone, but Libs brought her back down luckily.

As expected, Monroe was 100% worried about her parents targeting Liberty, but also a part of her was being selfish. She wanted Liberty to be dependent.

I know a lot of us aren't surprised, especially once Monroe explained better. It definitely doesn't make it right, but it shows her obsessive tendencies growing. It shows that she wants control over Liberty and whether she can leave or not. It's sad because Ro doesn't know unconditional love. She assumes she has to be perfect and manipulate to keep someone or something around.

It's honestly sadder than it is toxic😭 Especially with Monroe genuinely begging her for the break, so Libs would be dependent.

Also, Ro indirectly saying she loves Liberty? Sure, she said she loves that trait, but Liberty's surprised reaction clearly played a hand in this.

Monroe also changed the topic so quickly after. Liberty didn't have a chance to say anything else regarding the love topic.

Ro sleeping on the couch that night was hard too. Poor Liberty thought she was mad at her, but Ro quickly clarified that she's struggling with something.

Realistically so, considering she's given up so much control, and is usually used to other women depending on her.

It's a lot for her to process, especially since she wants to keep Liberty around.

The end of this chapter was great until the topic of Liberty's mother came up. At this point, I think we can all agree that she does need to tell her, especially after the situation with Liberty's friends and Monroe.

What are your thoughts, Lusties? Book club is officially in session, so feel free to share your theories and opinions💖

Do you think Liberty will tell Maris?

Comments

“to say that we’re in love is dangerous” been thinking about this song heavily when it comes to them😭😭

Yaoskurrs

I know for a FACT Monroe did not FAINTLY remember Ziona mentioning anything that could mean Libby going anywhere. Her memory is peak mode in order to manipulate the way she does.....y'all see how Libby just formulated a reason for how she might if gotten his number? Girl, press onnnn....the pieces are there *sigh*....... I still got your back Libby! Sarai, be the sound of reason when she needs it! 😫
