Update : What's Goin' On
Added 2018-09-18 02:47:02 +0000 UTCEarlier I realized that most of the updates I provide are on my twitter and... not everyone here has a twitter. So not only do I find that not particularly fair to you all, but here is where I actually have the freedom to go a bit more in depth with what I'm working on, what hangups are happening, and what's coming in the future. I'll try to stay on top of things more in the future, but for now, here's what's goin' on!
Lately there haven't been any videos because of a few different reasons. First, we've been done with content in FFXIV for a while, but that will change when 4.4 launches tomorrow. In that time I've been trying to give you guys more in terms of content with the Let's Plays I've been doing with Larryzaur. The weekend before last we weren't able to get together to record or hang out so I didn't have anything new there. This past weekend we did, though, so more of those will be coming starting tomorrow.
The other thing I've been working on in lieu of KH stuff has been animating the old comic strips I had archie draw up for me a couple years back. These were little snapshots of my time playing Monster Hunter Generations with Jesse and exposing him to the world of MH. They're not very long, but they take a fair amount of time to get set up. Since the only span about 30~ seconds each, I've been waiting to get a few done before I start releasing them, so I apologize for the content drought there. I have been working but I didn't communicate that outside of the Private Streams.
Finally, I've been committing a couple hours per day to programming lectures to start learning C# in Unity. I put more than that in on certain days last week, so my workflow on videos has suffered for it, so while the comics don't take a very long time to finish animating, I didn't manage my time well. I'm trying to stick to a more rigid schedule moving forward to avoid that from happening again. In any case, I've been at it for a couple weeks now and I'm making good progress, but I'm a ways away from making my own game the way I want to down the line. I don't know how realistic it is, but I'm hoping to be done with this course and prototyping my first game by December, but we'll see.
The game I want to make first is a 2D reaction game based in an RPG setting. The point will be to avoid and deflect attacks back at bosses in order to progress through the levels. I don't have much in terms of design docs drawn up yet, but that's the bare-bones gist so far. As I get farther in my programming ability and such, I'll be letting you guys know more as well as opening up panels with you all where you can offer up suggestions if you'd like to :)
That's it for now! I hope this works for you guys in terms of an update. Let me know if you have any further suggestions for this patreon page, what you'd like from me, or anything else I may have forgotten. Thank you all for your continued support!
