The story Oz tells about Rex Calabrese and how he acted in the old neighborhood. Its the small nuances throughout the show of Oz building up trust and loyalty with the regular people in his orbit. The ladies of the night. The regular mob guys. Vic. He's building out his persona of the man of the people. Oz is a throwback to the way things were. Its why he butts heads so much with the new bosses. That will continue to play out in the show and then in the films.
