As a caregiver for a person who fought cancer, the answer is yes. This is a very realistic portrayal of that battle. One of the best parts of this season was those parts. Also, there is a good chance that Lois is dressing like she is because chemo affects your body's ability to regulate its temperature, so she is probably feeling really cold at times.
