The plague is based on the Legacy Virus. Thats the disease that Illyana died from and was a major storyline for years in xmen, not the transmode virus. It (transmode virus) doesnt make you sick but kills you by painfully turning you mechanical. So no coughing and sweating just screams of agony. And yes cable has a son name tyler, code name Genesis.
