Native Video on Patreon!

You may not know this, but Heroes Reforged are official #PatreonAmbassadors, which means we'll sometimes get early insight into new features coming to the platform. Sometimes we're even able to be a part of the beta testing. Last year, Patreon announced that they would be working on a video player that would allow creators to upload videos directly to the platform. Currently, all of our Patreon-exclusive content gets uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted video and shared here.
With a native video player, that will no longer be the case as we're hoping to move our entire reaction catalog and hopefully have a more secure experience for everyone. Theft and pirating have been a major concern for many reaction channels who've seen their works ripped and shared on numerous Discord servers and video streaming services.
All that being said, we are now a part of the beta testing group for the new native video player. There are features that still need to be added like thumbnails, analytics, and more back-end stuff. But, most importantly, we want to hear from you and your experience. We're hoping to collect enough data and information from all of you that we can then forward directly to Patreon, and give them feedback on this new tool. Please let us know in the comments of this video, or future videos, what you think. This week's uncut reactions for Moon Knight, Arcane, and X-Men will be using this new tool.

This player 100% needs a popout feature. It's definitely a less enjoyable experience if you do side by side on the same screen like I do.

2022-04-06 14:38:51 +0000 UTCOne feedback from my side: the internal videoplayer of patreon always goes back to full volume. That is a bit distracting while watching the episode. And yeah chromecast or any casting functionality would be good!

I know that video piracy and ripping is a big problem for content creators on YouTube, etc. So I'm glad to see you're taking steps (experimental as they may be for a minute) to keep your exclusive videos truly exclusive and secure.
