Hey, homies! Happy Friday. We're back with another episode of WandaVision. What will this week's cliffhanger bring us? Let's find out.

WandaVision 1x7 Uncut Reaction!

Comments

i never got into the crazy theories. im a fairly literal person and yes i know they change things from the comics but going into any adaptation i only know what i see on screen or have read in comics. there are MANY devils in marvel comics, mephisto is just one. in my mind i view him as a demon lord/hell god not the verbiage of "devil" so he was never on my mind. "the devil is in the details" is just an old saying no different then "dont cry over spilled milk". because i followed the production of the film, i knew agnes was agatha all along but i didnt think she was going to be the villain cause thats not how i know her from the comics. i took this show as "its a combo baby: part house of m and part scarlet witch and the vision (comics when they got married and moved to new jersey)". the events are different but its still the bare bones of: we got married, moved to jersey, had magic babies, wanda goes nuts, the world or in the case of this show "world of westview" is all controlled by wanda. i took it all at face value only theory ihad is that senor scratchy was really her son nicholas scratch and she reverted him back to his human form to be quicksilver.

I think you are all missing the fact that the show takes place in NEW JERSEY, and Marvel once published a Buckeroo Banzai comic, making it Marvel canon. Agatha is clearly a red herring and the real villains are Red Lectroids from Planet 10 via the Eighth Dimension.

WandaVision Ep7 Take-Aways: - Agents of SHIELD is being referenced pretty heavily for a show that’s not suppose to exist in Kevin Feige’s universe. Because the Darkhold (the book in Agatha’s basement) was last seen in AoS Season 4, with Ghost Rider taking it back to Hell with him for safe keeping, I’m thinking maybe KF – either willingly or reluctantly – is being forced to give some semblance of an explanation how Agatha ended up with it to appease a not-so-small MCU fan base who also loved AoS. CONGRATS to the creators of AoS for forcing the issue! You’re canon as far as I’m concerned. - Monica Rambeau’s “guy” that inspired so much speculation (I thought it would be Victor von Doom) came across as a disappointment. However (incidentally, I partially credit New Rockstars for SOME of this one, but not all of it), I think it may not end up as much of a disappointment as we thought. Stick a pin in “Major Goodner,” Skrull fans. - Still not totally convinced that Agatha is doing all this completely of her own volition. Definitely some darker work at play here. - Wanda thought she suffered tragedy before now…I have a feeling her suffering is only just begun.

Murph

I think that Agatha is using Wanda as an "amplifier" of sorts to join with her power. She's been using this perfect life to keep Wanda happy and calm. Now she has a ransom ( Vision and her children) to keep having Wanda work with her.

Kevin Adamson

Hm what if the MCU uses the people that have been through the snap/blip as the catalyst that changes peoples genes and it will be the equivalent of the mutant X gene? There was a reason they showed Monica coming back from the blip and then this happens with wanda's being the thing that accelerates it. They spoke about how the snap/blip repercussions is going to be part of all the next shows and movies.

Become

Fun Fact: Agnes/Agatha's line to Wanda and the boys about checking for a mole on her back is a reference to the Salem Witch Trials. Back then, women who were accused had their bodies searched, and any imperfections (moles, scars, birthmarks, etc) seen on the skin were considered a "Witch's Mark"

Is Monica the thread to interconnect phase 4?

Zain Redding

My theory is Agatha stole the Darkhold from the library of Kamar-Taj during the 5 years Dr Strange was snapped. Westview is the Nexus of reality and Agatha needs Wanda to open it. Wanda was drawn to Westview, Agatha was already there. Wanda created this reality but Agatha is manipulating it. Dr Strange comes to investigate. Agatha wants Vision to leave. It's why she drew Vision out to the edge of town.

same! :D

I think Hector, Adam and Augustin are on the right track: WandaVision doesn't have to explain the origins of mutants or single-handedly introduce Mephisto or all the evil beings out there. But I do firmly believe that Disney/Marvel are being very strategic in using WV as the gateway into Phase 4 and beyond. WV doesn't have to encompass everything Multiverse, but it's a gateway into what the full potential of the MV will be for the audience majority that doesn't know the MV from vast Marvel comics lore. Casting Evan Peters "as Pietro" gets fans thinking about why and how the MW may operate in a feature like the next DOC STRANGE, but in a much smaller scale and narrative arena to get their minds sampling effects of a multiverse on storytelling and character appearances. WV doesn't have to explain or (re)define mutants, but it can be a gateway to understanding their larger lore beyond the Fox franchise. Pietro is a good crossover character for that purpose since he -- in one form -- is directly connected to the Wanda most Marvel viewers know from the MCU already. Likewise, Disney/Marvel can now use Agnes to introduce Agatha, her lore backstory in relation to Wanda from the comics -- but her effects on the narrower WV series narrative can be contained, remain dramatic in their own right, without blasting open the entire supernatural lore from Marvel all in one shot. That could be very overwhelming in both data overload and a huge shift in storytelling tone for those used to superheroes being Marvel. WandaVision is the ideal gateway to all these things, but in a smaller dose to take across one streaming season. Think of Marvel as a theme park: Superhero land is the hub so far that drew the largest viewing audience into the MCU. But Mutantland is off to the side of the hub, and it's connected by a bridge so viewers (and characters!) can visit both lands. Over there is the Darkland where characters and stories about Mephisto, Blade or Nightmare exist in the dark side of Marvel. There you'll find evil wizards, ancient tomes and vampires can exists side by side with the other lands. WandaVision is building bridges to access those lands from the hub, viewers can go to and fro between them, but the lands remain distinct from each other too. Through WV, Disney/Marvel might be inviting viewers across those bridges, or at least pointing the way into those adjacent lands. But they don't dump all those lands together in one big lump that viewers have to absorb in one chaotic lump. Oh, 90% of you understand the implications of the Multiverse even better now. Great, here comes Doc Strange and the Multiverse of Madness... you can handle it now. Wrap your brain around that film after WV, and you're ready for more. I could be wrong, but Marvel has proven time again that its planning across the MCU phases have been meticulously planned so far. I see that trait becoming even more important as the Fox franchises go live and beyond.

Cataracts obstruct your vision, right? That’s where I guess the name came from, anyway

I don't think Agnes turned the lights on for vision. I think hes someone she can't control hence she egged him on to walk out of the hex knowing he would fall apart and then be gone and stop asking questions and upsetting wanda. He is Wanda's weak point. As soon as Agnes had her playing the role of divorced mom wanda started to unravel. She can't imagine life without vision. Evan Peter's is Ralph aka mafisto. She didn't have her broach when she spoke to vision bc it holds the fragment of mafistos soul and she needed to leave it with pietro/mafisto so he could come to life. Ok im climbing out of the rabbit hole now

Titan Frenchies

Yeah but I'm holding out for a payback..like Reed or someone big turns up later and says 'ya welcome sorry couldn't be there for the handover"..just for Hector of course 😉 😁

Titan Frenchies

Anyone else actually feel bad on Hector's behalf because it wasn't Reed Richards? I did

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Madz

This was definitely my favorite episode of the season.

AnEnthusiasticKoala

I would like to point out that I believe her pants did say "naughty" across the butt during the Malcolm in the Middle style intro last week.

David Lonewolf Wright

Wow! What a great episode! Appreciate you fellas and your content

Evan Sotelo

I stayed up all night to watch that episode and then Disney+ crashed. The HEARTBREAK! But I finally got to watch it this morning with y'all. I was disappointed that the aerospace engineer arc didn't pay off, but I literally burst into tears when Monica became Photon. Seeing the hex pull her emotions and memories out, but then she pushed through was so powerful.

Morgan Nicole

Yes, this is the best. For the third week, I woke up in the middle of the night to watch it with Grace Randolph, who has her unique take on things without talking over the show too much. Then I come here for my second watch and see and feel so much more. That's the style of the show. We feel that frustration when Please Stand By appears, but it's conversations like all y'all have that help bring it home. This was Monica and Agatha's episode. I agree. I saw Agatha as a confirmation more than a reveal. She's been winking at the camera and dropping clues since the first episode. Like you said, it's now about the Why. I need to look again, but when Monica is walking through the barrier, I think we see Akira Akbar's face along with hearing her voice from Captain Marvel, right? That sequence was the BOMB-DIGGITY. I love this idea of specific colors. Agatha is the Purple Witch. I can see Wanda saying, "Well, I'm the Scarlet Witch, you b*tch!" No. No, please don't use that line. But, maybe there's a spectrum of magic similar to how they explained the rainbow of energy in the Green Lantern comics. Agatha is is Purple/Violet. Monica is Blue. Wanda is Red. Anyway, anyway, anyway. Too much conjecture. But it's so fun to guess. I was disappointed by that astrophysicist lack-of-reveal only because of the internet hype. Like you guys said, that could be the misdirect before the actual reveal, or we're just spinning wheels. Such a great experience, this.

Chad-Michael Simon

Subscribing to Heroes Reforged was the best decision I made this week, man I really love these watch alongs.

Morgan McSherry

Just finished watching it alone. And now I’m gonna watch it with you guys! Good start to a Friday.

Sarah Case

I second that :)

A. Bielke

It felt like it took forever to watch that episode, the hype train is fully rolling. WandaVision is literally breaking the internet. Well, Disney+ at least.

Greg McCoy

You know what I would like ? A watchalong for Infinity War and Engame. And you guys speak about how it was for you, in the cinema, watching these movies. :)
