Well, I'll probably rant about bastions anyway just for fun. Seems like everyone is all ga-ga eyes over them because new shiney I guess, but every time I've tried "strongholds" of some sort, most players couldn't care less about them. IME, players just want to go on adventures, which are the meat of the game, and they are not much interested in the side stuff (such as strongholds) that usually just amount to logistical time sinks (that take away from playing the more fun parts of the game).
