I've always felt there are certain archetypes for fantasy races that 5th edition D&D never really covered, and a big offender of this was the lack of plant people. So, in an effort to somewhat remedy that, I proudly present the florilia, a race of creatures who look humanoid but look and act much more similarly to plants. The florilia are passionate about the natural world and above all else strive to protect it, drawing their strength from the light of the sun or the moon. Biologically, they are also a very unusual race: I put a lot of time into studying the real-life behaviour of different plants and used this research when figuring out the odd ways in which florilia would eat, drink and behave. Overall, I'm really happy with how I captured their strange hybrid existence, and I think this race may even be my favourite I've designed to date.
This race may be the last one I'll design before the release of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, which may mark a distinct change in how I design races in the future. But, for the immediate future, I'll probably be indulging myself in spooky Halloween content for the month of October (which, if you can't tell, I'm way too excited for). Anyway, if you like this race and want a high quality PDF version of it or anything else I've made, head on over to my patron dropbox (or, if you're not pledged yet, consider doing so to help support me ❤️️).
