Thoraxia Race (Expanded & Revised)
Added 2020-02-16 16:59:44 +0000 UTCThey're back and better than ever! For those who have been following me for a long time, you may remember the thoraxia, one of my first ever player races. Inspired by the game Hollow Knight, they were a race of cave-dwelling humanoids who looked like insects, and they came in all shapes and sizes. It was a fine race at the time, but when I looked back on it for my one year anniversary, I realised that the lore surrounding them was minimal, and the playable options for them were too restrictive. So I decided to return to the concept with the intention of making a fully realised and generally more interesting version of it, but this quickly ended up becoming a complete overhaul of the race.
The lore for the thoraxia has been completely rewritten, and the player options have been drastically expanded: there are now more options in the Insect Anatomy trait, two subraces, and a variant option for the race as well. I'm really happy with the overhaul, and genuinely feel that this version of the race is better in every single aspect. The full PDF version of the race also includes stats for the armoured crawler, a large crustacean that resembles a giant pillbug which thoraxia traders commonly use as beasts of burden. I'm still on a bit of a break while I do my dissertation for university, so I'm not currently taking any money from my patrons. If you want to more know more, check here for a full explanation.
