Truth! I think it's really important to acknowledge that humans are a species of animal. We like to categorize ourselves as something supreme based on our perceived consciousness. Humans use animals for science, for sustenance, for labor. We like to prove their abilities as lesser than ours. I truly think the only thing that differentiates us humans from animals is our ability to write, read, and create art- so symbols. As far as I understand, there is no animal with an organized system of symbols, but there is 100% shared language in many species. I could imagine apes are capable of some form of symbolism but idk. Super peculiar stuff though, I don't understand why people use animals as a linguistic point of dehumanization, nor why its so acceptable to feel animals are dispensible, lesser, or unwanted, especially bugs .-.

2025-06-21 07:08:33 +0000 UTCim chewing on the vegan stuff (lol) because my view has generally been that i dont put any moral judgement on eating or not eating meat- its the systems we have that treat animals like they are not sentient or alive. I wish there was more of a visibility for animals rights activists that were not like the White Vegans that place more importance on animals rights/welfare than human rights. Part of the problem I think is that for some reason we've divided the struggles- like "eco-friendly" "cruelty-free" are labels that we are cool with putting on products made by companies that literally not just benefit from but perpetuate slave labor. How is that "eco-friendly" unless somehow its been decided that said people exploited are less important than animals and the environment? Humans are part of the environment! We live in the world! We are animals and are affected by and affect our environments! You have to friendly to humans too to actually be eco-friendly.

I have gotten many conservative and liberal coworkers to do this through spreading recipes. It isn’t enough but these are people that just don’t care, and it could spread into culture generally this way. Lots of people have not heard the good word of my lord and savior Lentils.
