WORKING MOMENTS

Hi guys!

A small article about work at the moment.

First, I want to talk about why messages do not come out often.
I do not have very good English, and I'm afraid to be misunderstood (this has already happened several times before). Therefore, I try to write briefly and only on the facts.

Creating games is a rather boring process and sometimes I don’t even know how to briefly tell what is happening at one time or another. There are also many technical issues that we discuss with the team (sometimes these discussions take two days or more) and I don’t know how to explain them correctly.

We work on the project every day. At least in my case - drawing takes a lot of time. Therefore, if I do not draw every day, then we will never move at all.
Programmers sometimes spend several days looking for a small bug. Because they write a lot of code and sometimes, if the comma is not set there, it creates very big problems. And to find this little mistake it takes a very long time.

I am not a programmer and it is difficult for me to talk about the nuances of this work, but what I periodically see makes me treat this profession with great respect.

Also, when you work, time flies very quickly and at night you remember that you need to write a message. You put it off the next day... and so on to infinity. :)

If you are not confused by errors in my messages, I can periodically tell you about the situation as a whole. How the work is going, what the team is doing and other little things in the blog format.

Now briefly about what is happening.

At the moment, programmers are working on a new colony logical system. So that the characters in the game obey the general rules. Because you can grow grain and make beer out of it ... beer can be used at the festival ... but you can’t just make a festival. The festival should have a structure: What festivals exist? What do these festivals give? Why are these festivals needed? What will happen if the festivals do not? What will happen if the festivals do? etc.

And each question has a very long structure of answers that are followed by more questions. We are trying to make a very simple system. Because our game is not about strategy and economy. But even primitive logic requires a lot of work. And a minimal economy must be present in the game with a bang.

Earlier, we made several mistakes, not calculating the development of colonies for the future ... now we have colonies with a huge number of clonists. This is an error. Because the system was not originally designed for a population of many thousands. Therefore, it is difficult to manage them.

We also take into account old colonies. Therefore, we cannot write a new structure and replace the old structure with it. We have to come up with ways to integrate, smooth transitions and more.

Now we are trying to figure out different options for the development of the colony and predict future errors. We will also correct old errors. This slows down the development process a little.

There are also technical nuances. At the moment, it’s difficult to download any update, because many files are changing for the new system. Therefore, we divided the update into several parts and downloaded them earlier.
The following updates require a new structure. Therefore, the future update will be quite large.

We will still think about how to divide future updates into parts, because there is a lot of work. But the bulk of the updates will add several professions (fractions) to the game, new resources, colony statistics, colonists will begin to have a different mood. the system of distribution, reproduction, trade ... and much more will change completely. I will not say anything about random events, festivals, crime, and more.

This is all very much interconnected and all this will need to be somehow divided into different parts.

So after folowing for a bit more than 2y and cancel my patreon 6 month ago i see nothing change at all the game it's no more than a few sex scene simulator and almost no gameplay and almost no progress at all since i stoped my patreon support........ So ? glad to see almost half of the patreon did the same as me and stoped support (almost 4k $ less than when i checked 6 month ago) but i'm surprised there is still some crazy supported who pay for a bit more of 10 sex scene game with nothing else in it........ so developer when are you gonna stop milking those who trust you ? never ? oh well .......

A big reason i find the game fun is the vast variety the breeding system offers. Human races, Sirians and Hybrids. More than farm and market updates i would love to see more Alien Races and subsequent hybrid variants between the Aliens and Humans. Just sharing what i like about the game. It would be awesome to see it soon. Cheers!

i think is better to do an update more often to break the routine of the player. another things if you make a trello ( https://trello.com/ ) to see what are you planing to do, and what have you done :D i think the user appreciate it :D

I was wondering, if you considered streaming on picarto or other similar site from time to time. That way you could continue drawing and players could see for themselves what are you currently working on. Edit: scratch that, you probably tried this already, found your account

Hey, no worries m8. I for one appreciate the effort you put in to protect the older colonies. My colony turns 3 at the end of the month, so thank you. I have a degree in computer programming and I am training to be a 3D animator. Programming can be incredibly tedious especially as you say a ; is not in the right place. Even worse is if its not a syntax error like that but a logic error. Trying to hunt that stuff down is a nightmare. But tell your programmers if the want hard, try bug hunting an assembly language crash dump 40 pages long printed off a daisy wheel (showing my age) printer written in binary. I also understand the time it takes to do art work as a CG artist. I can easily spend months on an 11 sec clip. I have over the years learned to try and word my questions to you in such a way that it is easier to understand. I can remember a few times asking you a question and when I get the reply I can tell the question didn't translate into the right question and when you answered back I was pretty sure that it didn't translate into the answer for the mistaken question. Like asking "what colour is that wall" and getting the answer "Bob". It was frustrating in the beginning but now its like a game and it makes me smile. It reminds me of the children's game telephone where you sit in a circle with 20 other kids and have them tell the one next to them the same phrase and when it comes back around the phrase has completely changed. Thank you for the update and all the effort.

This was talked about before but it was said to be under 200 at most, reason being is because each work station, atm being farm and mine only takes 32 colonists, so why would you have 20 times that amount in your case when 18/20 aren't used for anything other than breeding or selling for profit?

I'm sure for most people, your English isn't terrible, I've seen a lot worse by others, and to me there are no confusing messages from you, I believe it's more from people who don't understand English much either because either they aren't fluent in it or they have a different mother language which creates a small language barrier that neither of you are good at English. For another fact I know that creating a game is not easy, neither is programming or drawing or anything like that, while I go to school atm, a lot of the students program and draw and I for one am not good at either, but I do a bit of each, it's not easy that's for sure. I'm currently managing my own project with a server and docs which can be boring for some but for me it's fun, it's a hobby in the spare time. On another note while you might write short and direct messages which can be confusing, it's probably because we didn't get the answer we were looking for because it was too small of a reply, I know you draw in the day and reply to comments at night, but maybe write a little bit more so it won't be too confusing for some, but don't worry, there is of course a big community with players, me included that will help clarify for questions from members and players both new and old, we are all on big family and we should help each other when we can. Otherwise you do a great job. It's been over a year since I started fully playing and it's over 2-3 years since I first heard about this. It's interesting to see how far it's come and I can't wait for what's to come. Take your time, you can't rush perfection.
