i knew you would love hinata going 😭😭😭😭

tanasia

nope, it's the same core team, not all the same people as there is a 3 year gap between the seasons but it's the same studio and sub section of IG.

AryTheDog

Isn’t it different staff?

Jabez Katsak

btw in regards to why the season looks different is that the designs were updated, but the person in charge for them is the same, and other than a change in director this season is by the same studio and staff as the previous seasons for the most part

AryTheDog

I think that tension--will he, won't he--is important. Certainly the other players and Anabara seem to think it'll happen. I think the full impact is felt best by wondering the whole time whether it'll happen, so I wouldn't want to give that away.

Ryan

I love this arc

A lot of people dont understand this arc and ive been wondering if i should put in a comment about something. Ill say its a spoiler for later episodes so please dont read it if you havent seen it and hopefully other people can agree or disagree if its a good comment. A lot of people believe that the coach is going to let Hinata play, and i feel like a lot of reactors got carried away with that. Thinking that this arc is hinata proving he can play and that the coach will understand that. I was wondering if a comment mentioning how "When the coach says Hinata isnt going to play, and will just be a ball boy, he means it" I just dont want Goodwin getting stuck as some other reactors do, but i also think that Goodwin is 100% the smartest person ive seen react to these shows and he does suprise me on stuff i missed or didnt understand

UndeadDesk

I'm so so so excited for this training arc. A lot of reactors I've watched didn't really understand this arc and the point it's trying to make but oh man does it make me feel some type of way

Athena

I agree! It was giving me brothers bickering vibes

Athena

I kinda like when Kageyama rubs it in Hinata’s face lol remember they still view each other as rivals even though they play on the same team.

Happy Birthday to my bestest of best boys Hinata! ☀️☀️☀️ Great day to start this arc and for me the beginning of when Haikyuu goes from something already incredible to the masterpiece that it is. I can’t believe the perfect timing that you are starting the ball boy arc at the same time as the farmland arc in Vinland Saga. Two arcs that will be fundamental to my personal top two favourite protagonists.

Sacha

Also, something about another series that I’d like to mention, there is a leak that Chainsaw man will get both a second season and a movie. If the movie adapts what I think it will, I think it will come before the season.

Chris Sharpe

I really like Hinata’s character progression. Like Washijo said, the freak quick pretty much gave Hinata a free ticket to the big court, many would say he didn’t earn it, in some ways I think Hinata might think that too. Hinata’s arc is learning to be a more self contained player, to truly feel like he deserves to be on the court.

Chris Sharpe

Not that important in the grand scheme of things but I really like this ending because spotlights the whole karasuno community its deserved flowers. An underlying theme of the show is how this team is a community team from Ukai and his friends to Saeko and the school coming together. This isn't a team of 6 or 12 volleyball players. It's a town

Aanvik

I guess there's something to be said for that kind of focus and commitment. But I agree that it would be great to be able to try different things

Alex G

I really love this arc, but something to keep in mind that I’ve seen a lot of creators forget during this arc. Hinata genuinely is not that good at volleyball, he’s very talented and athletic and that’s allowed him to skip A LOT of learning steps to become a powerful attacker, but it’s almost all on instinct. He really doesn’t understand the basics in any of the other areas besides spiking and I think the Shiratorizawa coach can see that more than anyone else seems to

Sunny

The second-hand embarrassment of this episode for me never fades. I just remember saying "no, no, no..... surely no.... oh GOD NO" (Different emotion, but same words as in FMA when Alphonse turns to Mei and says he needs a favor). Can't really comment about what Goodwin was talking about without risking spoilers, so instead: 8:50 "Do volleyball and basketball happen at the same time?" --> This is one of the aspects of Japanese clubs that really bothered me in Japan. There are no "seasons" per se. It's all-year round. Even baseball in January: it's snowing outside, but they're in baseball uniforms doing calisthenics or other exercises in the literal hallway rather than doing an indoor sport. There's this idea that you would lose out on practice time if you did other sports at other times of the year. I always thought that was such a waste. You learn so much from using your body in other ways, seeing competition from other perspectives, and there are so many examples of great athletes that credit their success to learning multiple sports (Bo Jackson, Martina Hingis, Michael Jordan, etc.). I think Hinata would really benefit from handball, for example, which is popular in Japan, but it just is never really an option. You pick a lane, and then stick with it the whole year. 13:30 Daichi says that the Youth scouts are probably looking for a libero who is has more "otona-ge" 大人気 ("adult energy"). So, not a 1-to-1 for "maturity," but maybe someone who acts more like the adult in the room? 16:50 I'm sure that Goodwin can empathize, but Kageyama struggling to make it to the camp because he can't read the names of train routes is relatable, although I think he really should have known 宇都宮 (Utsunomiya, the capital of Tochigi and self-proclaimed gyoza capital of Japan).

Ryan

Thanks and to you as well! :D

Happy birthday to the chaotic ball of sunshine, Hinata Shoyo!! (21st June) The amount of lols but also secondhand embarrassment in this episode is unrivalled. And while most of them disapprove of Hinata's actions, it's also nice that he has equally chaotic senpais in Tanaka and Nishinoya to support his audacity. This is my personal favorite arc after the Tokyo training arc of season 2!! Also Sakusa Kiyoomi, who Kageyama met outside the training center, is from Itachiyama, the school that beat Fukurodani in the Tokyo prefecture qualifiers and placed first in their region. As Kageyama said, he's one of the top three spikers in Japan along with Ushijima and another we're yet to meet.

Bighead

Hope the rest of your day and tomorrow goes better :)

Alex G

shit day today. But this reaction made it so much better. Thank you and can't wait for more reactions to "Haikyuu To the Top!!" and Vinland. <333
