2023-08-05 06:40:18 +0000 UTCThe built up exhaustion that releases within the last set is so relatable. I've been dying to talk about it because my legs have literally gave out on me before in both the situation with Hinata and Daichi. It's so frustrating when you are telling your body to go for the ball but fall short because of stupid fatigue!! I've forgiven my legs for now. My heart goes out to the all-arounders Tanaka, Asahi, and Daichi who have literally been playing non-stop the whole game. Honestly, props to them. Tsukki's growth is my absolute favorite. I just adore the tsundere, sassy character develop passion and feelings lol And let's not forget Nishinoya's EPIC DOUBLE SAVE. The most ICONIC play I have ever seen. I'm so jealous of his skill and quick reaction time.

2023-06-15 07:48:24 +0000 UTCAm i the only one that hates this cliffhanger. Now i understand what its meant to do, cut you off when you want it to finish. But like a good cliffhanger doesnt have the match end almost immediately at the start of the next episode. I think it would have been better if it the match finished in the 2nd last episode and we had the celebration and post match in the final episode

2023-06-15 03:48:32 +0000 UTCThe different "pools" are in different cities all over the world. Most of the Japan games are in Nagoya. There are video highlights and stuff here: https://en.volleyballworld.com/global-schedule

2023-06-14 17:45:09 +0000 UTCWe are not quite done with the whole "process vs product" debate. It'll be explored more explicitly in Season 4, which I'm looking forward to hearing Goodwin discuss then. The VNL ("Volleyball Nations League," basically the world championships of volleyball) is happening right now, and so far Japan's men's team is the only undefeated country. It's still a ways to go, but the finals are coming up on the 23rd. (Sadly, Canada's had a rough go this tournament, but the US looks good) There have been a few plays this year that have been trending for looking a lot like Haikyuu. The Japan team does the Oikawa-style fake-spike-to-set thing decently regularly now. Still, nothing quite like Nishinoya's double save this episode. That is a 1-in-a-million play. I'm not sure if this culturally translates, but the whole "___ idiot" trope means someone who basically is so obsessed with [X] that they just get a child-like insatiable joy out of excelling in it. In the context of sports, it's a compliment.

2023-06-14 16:46:28 +0000 UTCThe fact that you brought up the concept of ‘results and progress’ makes me think that you are really really gunna love all that is to come in haikyuu 🥰 Also this cliffhanger will never not be iconic as hell!
