I know some people will say your plot needs to be wider than the whole world with all this depth, but I think this story creates a massive amount of that depth from just characters interacting alone. It's really a breath of fresh air.

I had a buddy in school that grew up in France, moved to Shanghai when he was 6, moved to LA when he was 13, and then finally moved where we are (SC) when he was 17. And when I asked him what his experiences were like, he said that if he had his choice of where to stay out of those options, he would’ve picked Shanghai hands down and that most American’s idea of China is entirely skewed.

I don't know if you already watched them tho. The OVA is a completely canon continuation of the story and u will feel like u skipped an episode without the OVA context. I don't know why they didn't implement it directly into the story considering it's importance. Anyway ty for the great and insightful reaction as always!
