2022-07-04 20:27:31 +0000 UTCOn that note, I’ve got a few minutes on my hand so I’ll try to create a handy lil list of all the new characters introduced in this episode lol: Short, blond third year with pig tails - Nishimiya Momo The robot - Ultimate Mechimaru The guy with his eyes closed and Jedi-esque braids that’s basically Dom Toretto since he’s “all about families” so far lol - Noritoshi Kamo The girl in the red and white Gi looking outfit that Gojo was discussing the traitor scenario with - Utahime Iori (semi-First grade sorcerer that is basically for comparison’s sake the Nanami/Gojo of the Kyoto group, not exactly in power terms just so in that shes the mentor/leader figure that acts as the liaison between students and principal like they do) And well you already know all about Todo, Mai, and Miwa so that’s all. For now lol

Cause holy shit, the way they made that “Mr. Gojo!” line slide off screen as Yuji slid into frame @7:52ish (and the Utahime line later @12:08ish) was fucking hilariously silly and I loved it lol

2022-07-03 18:21:25 +0000 UTCJust for a bit of clarification: the reason Yuji usually looks so emotionless or has such a reserved and non-expressive look on his face when he’s fighting because that’s him focusing on controlling and maintaining his cursed energy without allowing his in-the-moment emotions to impede or hinder him. Remember that his whole training arc (movie watching marathon) was about learning to maintain a consistent and unshakeable emotional state so he could use cursed energy efficiently without needing to be pissed off or sad, regardless of the circumstances. 2022-07-03 15:39:03 +0000 UTCIt's not that the students don't respect or like Gojo but rather that they have a very friendly, peer-like relationship with him. There isn't that much of a power hierarchy in JJK. And we see how casual of a relationship sorcerers of any grade and students have. There isn't really that factor of awe and adoration of heroes like we see in MHA among JJ sorcerers. So that explains why Gojo though the most powerful doesn't have the power to bring about any change in the jujutsu world.

It would be the equivalent of Vlad King telling the class 1B kids that All For One is in class A and needs to be ended ASAP to save more from suffering lol. Regardless of whether they’re high school kids or not, those are pretty massive stakes being dumped on their laps and it only makes sense that those without any personal connection to Yuji would instantly fall in line and help get the job done.

2022-07-03 14:31:24 +0000 UTCTo be fair to the Kyoto kids, they exorcise curses for a living, and I think their decision was less based on a lack of care for Itadori (although there definitely was some of that, as they haven’t met him), but putting a huge priority on ending Sukuna. He is the king of curses and they were told by the principal that he needs to go or things could get really bad.
