2022-06-14 05:59:11 +0000 UTCShirogane's rejection of the story of Princess Kaguya is an incredible monologue for me. It will continue to have a deeper meaning as you get further into the show and hopefully future seasons (Season 4 or a movie after Season 3). One of my fav parts of S2.

Haha Not sure if it has ever been mentioned before, but the characters of Kaguya-sama are loosely based on the characters from the Japanese folktale of the Moon Princess Kaguya. I will try to bring up some of the references when they become plot relevant and not spoiler-ish.

2022-06-11 03:39:20 +0000 UTCI guess you’re sticking to your own ideals and preferences, which is fine I suppose. But I’ve barely ever had a problem with the sexual moments that pop up sometimes??? This show is incredibly wholesome, moments that are a bit sexual/scandalous in nature don’t change that. Spy x Family and Kaguya-sama definitely shouldn’t be compared on those terms. Sorry, but this whole comment just kinda has me like “wut”

I came in expecting a wholesome RomCom but got a show that is pretty irreverent and permissive towards adolescent premarital sex. It really makes me feel uncomfortable. The idea that teens are hormonal horndogs who fuck like rabbits is to me, doing real life teenagers a disservice. It is not like Haru and Rin in FruBa which is treated with sensitivity and gravitas since their unique family situation pushes them to be like that In Kaguya, sex is treated as some achievement milestone you have with your significant other and virginity and chastity and those who hold to the ideal(Chika)are constantly mocked. From what I have heard this attitude doesn't stop. I actually think all the sex stuff in Fruits Basket is tamer than in Kaguya. In an ideal world everyone would only be sleeping with their life partners, but we don't live in that world, so I at least wish sex, especially between adolescents is treated seriously. Hope to see everyone in SpyxFamily. A show that is actually pretty wholesome.
