“shigirakis here” lolllll

tanasia (BAKUGreatestofalltime)

“What, you can’t tell by the VA’s?” “Abs. Shonen protagonist abs check. DAMN look at those abs,” “And there it is! The panda, vaulting the roof. That’s why we’re all here,” “Gone are the lackadaisical school days of occult clubbing and breaking Japan’s national sports records,” “If somebody can align their greatest fears with the things that are actually the greatest threats to them and the most detrimental with a high degree of accuracy and understanding, doing the right thing, and being courageous, having the strength to fight for the things you believe in, become a little easier,” “They were demons before they were demons,” “Imagine you’re Jennifer Lawrence, and you just decide to watch an anime one day. You hear about this new hot anime called Jujutsu Kaisen, give it a try, and you realize that you’re the main character’s type. What an honor,” “Obviously you use your powers to win the heart of Jennifer Lawrence,” “You don’t even know what your endeavors are until you’re really deep into doing them,” “No one is responsible for the existence of tragedy. It’s just baked into reality,” “There’s a limit to what you can do, and the way that you help is by doing the things that you’re best at doing,” “Guilt does nothing,” “But just going by conventions, I’m guessing it’s going to be a female character,”

So thankful to see you come back to give your input on this show; there's SO much to love and appreciate about this series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

NotJustEngineering

This episode brings up the philosophy of how you want to live your life. Living for the sake of others or living up to your highest expectations of yourself and your capabilities. I'm interested to see how well these themes carry through on my own re-watch, but I think it's a worthwhile thought exercise. Also gotta mention it, I forgot how fun the Jujutsu Kaisen ED is! So good! And shall we start the countdown to Panda?!

Aura Y

Thanks for saying so I appreciate that!

Alex G

I see, I thought it would be a step by step thing. I can imagine it being even more dangerous to do it all at once lol

Alex G

So it begins…

benj

You'll never see it comiiiiiiiing!

MikeWest

Any time goodwin mentions Persona, my hopes and dreams of a persona 5 playthrough become more real

Laggy

I'm glad to be a patron here because genuinely I've never watched a reactor who constantly makes me reappreciate series more. jjk has been one of my fav animanga for a while now, but I got this deeper feeling from it just by watching you react to it! The same thing happened with demon slayer and Shinobu, who I never appreciated much before. Your reactions really bring something new, so thank you :)

Travis

This is super interesting, thanks for sharing!!

The jjk ending is my favorite ever. Btw, I think they’ll specify this but you ask when he’s gonna eat the next fingers. I don’t think this is a spoiler, and I think gojo might’ve even mentioned this, but basically the plan rn is to find all the fingers and have him eat them all at once and then kill him. The second finger was just to see if it was a one off or if he can genuinely fight sukunas influence. By feeding him all at once and then killing him, I guess the higher ups feel like there are less risks involved.

I'm so glad you're watching this! I'm so excited to see your reaction to future episode :) This is some lore on sukuna if you're interested! (idk if the manga ever touches on it but the anime so far hasn't) In the Nihon Shoki/Nihongi, the 2nd oldest book in Japanese classical history mentions sukuna as being a demon with 8 arms and 2 faces who commits terrible acts/deeds. He was described as strong and agile but ended up losing to a warrior who served the emperor at the time. Interestingly enough, while most of japan perceives him as a demon, one area of japan, the Gifu prefecture, he is described as a local hero and respected as a great warrior. This is also the area he is said to have been from. There is a story in this area about him falling to the same warrior mentioned in the Nihongi, it is essentially the same story but he isn't described as a demon. People speculate that because he was going against the emperor, he is portrayed as evil in the Nihongi but as a hero to the locals of his origin. As they say, the winners write history One area in the Gifu prefecture describes sukuna as having 4 arms and two faces just like jujutsu kaisen does. There is another area of the prefecture where there is a temple that is solely to worship sukuna, and he is considered a god. There is also a story about a monk finding a box in an old temple where inside was a mummy of a deformed human being with 2 faces and 4 arms. I did some research and found out that there was a practice by some Japanese monks where they mummified themselves alive so their bodies wouldn't decompose, but die and reach enlightenment. In short the story starts around the 19th century I believe and talks about a pair of conjoined twins, that a man named mononobe tengoku, who was a leader of a religious cult, buys from a freak show and locks them in a room with a bunch of other ppl with deformities. He didn't give them any food so they would have to eat each other to survive and would only open the door when one person was left. That person was the conjoined twins. He mummified them like the Japanese monks and as it reminded him of the legend of ryomen sukuna, named the mummy that. Whenever the cult moved around, they would take the mummy with them and it was said that wherever they took the mummy, disaster would befall that area. Sorry for the long comment! I just found the lore/mythology very interesting and wanted to share! (If anyone is more well versed, I'd appreciate being corrected on any errors or if you'd like to add onto the lore!)

Cheesebit

Hell yeah, I’m so excited!

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

Gege is such a chaotic ENTP I love it

María Uzcátegui

Haha I was thinking later that my timing was off by a couple days. If I had seen this earlier I definitely would have included it

Alex G

Yeah definitely one to add to the playlist

Alex G

Welp, we have another anime ed with dancing. You know what you must now add to your channel outro lmao

Pye

And Megumi Fushiguro shares VA with Kyo. That's funny

Kei

Can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of this series! Also fun fact: The author, Gege, has confirmed that Sukuna's fingers taste like soap! :)

Nox

I listen to the music from the ending credits on a daily basis.

bl0odm1st

There are short end credit scenes after almost every episode starting next episode. Just wanted to let you know if you are interested in watching them. They aren't relevant to the plot but they do help build the world and characters and I think they're pretty funny.

meg

He’s definitely my favorite lol I can’t wait for him to get here

Jake White

A lot of the points you raised here are points that are still quite the mystery within the story, but I feel like Gege (the author) makes a lot of things implicit. Indeed, Yūji is kind of tetherless in life, which is why he took to the jujutsu world so casually. If I think about it too much I get sad lol

María Uzcátegui

I highly doubt it would be by his crew. But maybe through a sacrifice? Hard to say!

Alex G

I really love Gojo, he's a great character. But why do i feel like Goodwin's favorite would be the BLOND guy who hates overtime? 😂

Kei

I'm excited to see this again while listening to your thoughts. I will say, the first time I watched this show I really didn't connect with Itadori as an MC. Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention, and I wasn't used to anime storytelling yet, but I didn't really understand his motivation at first. "Proper death" seemed really abstract to me. But now I get it, he doesn't want people to regret how they lived. To him, tragedy means not living up to one's full potential. More powerful to me though is his realization that he wants to rid the world of Sukuna because it's something only he can do. You're right, he can't stop world hunger, so it would do no good to fixate on that, but he can [possibly] stop Sukuna from hurting people, so he's going all in.

Steve.

Now that we know that Itadori is planned to be executed after eating all the fingers, do you think that he’ll actually be killed by the end of the show?

Jabez Katsak

I know you are going to love this show. At the beginning, I thought Itadori was “too perfect” but his character and chemistry with the others really shines. And I can tell you are going to LOVE Gojo (blindfold guy), especially since you liked the Gohan dude in Mob Psycho.

Chris Sharpe

The day has arrived!!! Praise be 🙏

Jake White

Make sure to watch the after credits scenes for this show! It’s kinda similar to demon slayer’s taisho era secrets with little scenes/skits.

Megan

Btw, Gojo shares VA with Soma Shigure

Carlos Salazar

Let’s gooooo!! I’m so excited:)

Megan

very happy you're watching this show
