This might only be implied in the show, but Fushi involuntarily experiences the "stimulation" of every living thing around him. That's why he felt Gugu's heart hurting while he was talking to Rean. A lot of scenes that have gone by make more sense if you know this, particularly Fushi's aversion to harming anyone. He directly feels the pain he's inflicting. (For example his full body spasm when he bites the giant bear's nose off.) It seems he can also feel emotions, as it seems like Oniguma thanked March through Fushi as his last thought for easing his passing.

The nameless boy for example, his entire appearance is Fushi's 'default' image. People who see this Immortal being will associate that look with him, even if they know it was once a lonely boy's body. There's also a very different level to it considering he can have his forms/memories stolen. If he lost March for example, his memories of March are gone. I think there's a debate to be had on if Fushi is part March or not, in some way.

That's your individuality, it's not your body but your mind and experiences carried with it. There have been a lot of debates over this sort of thing when it comes to some sci-fi questions like cloning. You know, if I cloned myself in some hypothetical future, would that clone also be me? I like thinking about this in relation to Fushi a lot. He becomes the people that impact him if they die, but does he carry their memories? Is he still himself?
