2021-12-05 06:45:09 +0000 UTCYeah, Tokoyami and Hawks are great. He doesn't get the spotlight often, but when he does, it's awesome! I'm kinda torn on all the recap and flashbacks this arc: On the one hand, it's a lot, and especially when you're binging, it gets tiresome, but on the other hand, it's usually relevant to the moment and stuff from the first two seasons, so I'm more inclined to let it pass? Like you said, it gives it a nostalgic vibe and fits with the whole "look how far we've come" theme they've got going.

2021-12-04 18:19:36 +0000 UTCSome great animation in this episode, I have been enjoying these episodes even more than I did the first time, this rewatch is definitely making me appreciate these school arcs a lot more, I love these episodes! Tokoyami focus is always appreciated, but we even get more Hawks and Aizawa this episode too who are some of my favortie adult characters. The Shadow Guy's quirk and character design is AWESOME, I love his action scenes and the way he moves around on the pipes carrying people, these fights are all super unique and well thought out, imo the team battles keep getting better and better, especially when Bakugo's team gets to fight there round.

2021-12-04 18:08:22 +0000 UTCTokoyami is incredibly underrated, he has always had good one liners throughout the show, always spoke his mind, and let's not forget that he was willing to be in Midoriya's team during the sports festival when no one else wanted to AND was the reason they were part of the winning teams. Also, I had the same reaction when he took his cloak off like "wtf when did he become so buff??" hahaha.

Total guess based on how TV works. But iβm super excited for these battles, and actually prefer these over when the show goes super dark. (Although i did hear about something dark happening to a character in this very episode in season 5, but i must have misheard as season 5 does not seem dark at all.)

2021-12-04 12:21:15 +0000 UTCI love Tokoyami for the reasons you stated. He has this dark exterior but is actually really sensitive and caring. And I think this exterior is not even an exterior, is part of who he is probably because of his quirk, I imagine having a shadow figure that loses control in the dark apearing to you at young age when you are alone in the dark pretty scary and mold your personality.
