In My Hero Academia Season 2 Episode 11, Fight on Iida, after Urarara's touching phone call with her brother, surely Iida's phone call with his brother will go well.

eey yooo... same

I say again, if Shoto doesn't want him, Endeavor can be my daddy.

Revin MacGrath

Nice description Alex...two completely different phone calls

There's a lot of themes in this show of heroism being the burden of self sacrifice for others. From that perspective, Todoroki was in kind of a selfish place with all this. Like, he wanted to be a hero, but with conditions about what he would and wouldn't do. Limiters he'd put on himself out of spite and pride. I feel like Deku's power, at the level it's at now, epitomizes self sacrifice, and he was able to use that to break those walls down.

STAINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN he's so cool~ his quirk is so neat dkfjgnsldfjnglsdfg also idr the last tournament fight, idr how it goes i just remember Iida's brother and stain and the fight that happens

Brimmy

I didn't remember that Iida's time limit was 10 seconds, mind blowing

Carlos Salazar

Endeavor is a terrible person, but does that mean he can't be heroic? if not for all might he would be number 1. hard to imagine him getting that far if he didn't have something good to offer.

Jack Cas

Damn, as someone who’s watching the current season 5, it is astonishing how the characters evolved as time passed by. It’s laughable seeing them in the Joint Training Arc in comparison to this tournament.

Vinicius Colucci

THEY KILLED HIM??? My mouth was wide open watching this episode at that reveal... Jesus christ

Nick

This is an interesting idea and I hope it gets explored more :D

Alex G

“Meddling where you don’t belong is the essence of being a hero” yeah it sounds a bit weird but I think what it means is "giving help when it isn't asked for." A true hero recognizes a problem and reach out to help even if the person doesn't realize that they need help, or are afraid to ask for it.

I believe we saw All Might's master before in the beginning of the season. He was reading a letter. But I might have gotten that wrong. Hopefully some triple A batteries can undo the pain of this episode....

Alex G

I really love your discussion points, i feel like you are one of the few reactors who enjoys having a deep conversation about the world not just characters and cool fights, it really makes this even more enjoyable!

Erodoehtthewanderer

Yeah it felt like he was reflecting on it at the very least...

Alex G

Oh no! It's ending soon isn't it :(

Alex G

Why do you think All Might's master is a he? Your mic and Iida's brother have so much in common, they both died in this episode. Or maybe he also needs to be charged? Who knows.

Carlos Salazar

It definitely feels like the tournament wasn't exactly written to be a spectacle, instead it was written to allow the side characters to be explored and developed a bit more. 20+ students are never an easy task to manage. All-Might's phrasing might not have been the best in terms of encouragement, but I think his intentions were right. There definitely seems to be something destructive about putting the weight the "Symbol of Peace" on Deku's shoulders right now.

Just gonna warn you in advance: You should treasure "do-do do" will you still can.

MooTuu

lmao 10 frames of Stain and u gettin AoT flashbacks already.

Chill Potato

You have… ONE new message. RIP Ida’s brother 🪦

bl0odm1st

I believe that was a bit of hyperbole since midoria is so young to already be collecting permanent injuries

Logan Bradford

Idk why ur comments on Iida’s call killed me 😂😂

Melanie Marie

Let's go back to that fun comment about the beach...

Alex G

All might was in a rough position early on in the episode, because recovery girl is right, he shouldn’t praise him for how badly he destroyed his body in a non life threatening situation. “Meddling where you don’t belong is the essence of being a hero” just keep that line in mind, it’s going to come back up lol

Kollie123

Oh.... I was gonna do a fun comment about polluting a beach, but then Ida's brother got...killed? Like, murdered?

MikeWest

Midoriya isn't 11, he's actually 15 and about to become 16. Japan high school is 15 to 18 ish
