ATLA Rewatch Episode 3x9 Reaction

How do the fire nation people wear buns all day?! If I have one in, after 5 hours I have a headache. XD

“”I’m not the only one”? It’s literally me!” LOL!

The problems spiraling really that you mentioned really connects with me. When I went to therapy I was in a really bad place mentally already, there were moments where I felt slightly better but the more I discussed it or what to do the more I would obsess over it all and worry. I'd get guilty at myself for not working on getting better the way they recommended, and at some point I stopped caring and went to an even worse place.

Thinking about it, Aang isn't the only one who wakes up from delusions and dreams in this episode.

For me as a math major, instead of a math test it's a history test

That's one thing that surprised me about Zuko's story that I really appreciate. There is no sour grapes at all. He really DID get his place back. He got what he thought he wanted. But then he kept going. And you make a great point that that started in that first war meeting when he chose to spoke his mind.

That clears that up :D

Thank you for these reaction videos.

That drawing of Ozai was actually Aang's noodle-lord art from when he went to Fire Nation school

One of, if not the funniest episode in the entire show. The sheer quantity of memes that have come out of this episode makes it legendary, even before the modern internet in 2008 when this came out it was beloved by the fanbase as a comedy/fan-fiction iconic episode. And then even with all that lighthearted fun and humor there is serious angsty Zuko time which everybody loves.

This is probably obvious, but it only just now clicked the fact that really the final turning point for Zuko was a war meeting. His whole journey started with the first one and the reason this one sort of seals his turn is because he finally got the closure he needed that if he had chosen to act differently in the first meeting (which I'm sure he's mulled over and over again in his head, speaking of anxiety), he may not have gotten burned and banished by his father, but he wouldn't have been true to himself which is what he felt in this meeting. He sort of lived the concept of Levi and Erwin's decision making to an extent. Zuko thought that if he had chosen to act differently in that first meeting he would be a better, more happy person but this proved to him that he would have just been hollow and never have gotten to experience all the things he did on his journey with Iroh. He wouldn't have been the person he was destined to be- the person he became. On a funnier note, I laughed out loud at the unnecessary move of making Toph look the wrong way when her and Sokka peak out from behind Katara early in the episode. They didn't need to do her like that haha

I guess it's better than watching myself and still being alone in my thinking

The Beach definitely solidified Zuko and Mai's relationship. They put it all on the table and it made their bond stronger. And I think the way Zuko told Mai about his feelings regarding the war meeting was what led her to betray Azula in the end. She was hurt by him leaving but ultimately trusted his judgment because she knows he's good at heart. I just really like their relationship. "I'm not the only one. Wait that's literally me." That took me out. You've got to take care of yourself.
